"Stupid dummy idiot"
"Incompetent"
"You would be nothing without me."
"You are too old to start again."
And the kicker: "No one will ever love you like I do."

Well, guess what?

So grateful to MaineBiz and to the 20 or so of my peeps who drove to Portland from near and mostly far to shower me with love and validation September 9.

Here are some better quotes than the ones above.

From Mary Lou, fifth from left in the above group photo:

"Where in this crazy world is there a place for women victims of domestic abuse to come and feel safe, loved, and validated? Think about how our lives have intertwined from all over Maine, with solidarity, trust, respect, and unconditional love.

"I have a smile on my face and peace in my soul, thinking about the sisters of Finding Our Voices whose lives we would never have crossed paths with if not for FOV."

And from our former board chair, Cathy, referencing M Scott Peck's foundation on building true community: "He defined it as 'a socioemotional process aimed at achieving deep empathy, authentic communication, and peace'. I remember that two of the key principles were vulnerability and inclusivity.

"And voila, isn't that exactly what Finding Our Voices has achieved throughout our beautiful state."

What is coworking at Union + Co?
🥐It's the place where you find yourself hunched over your laptop working on a deadline and your neighbor brings you a sweet treat, because they know you need it.
📈It's a place of impromptu micro meetings where you find yourself with new business or a new friend.
🧘It's a place to explore new ways of working and being, and where you can begin practicing the art of separating work from life.
Honored to have this place and the people who come here every day highlighted by @mainebiz.
Also hayyy @coworkhers 💕

We’re just absolutely stunned by the beautiful photo essay that our new friend @tim_greenway17 put together for @mainebiz magazine - out now. Tim spent some serious time on the road with us fellas and we had some great times and he captured some real cool moments. These photos are just a little sample. Pick up a copy of the magazine and check out the article online and thanks again Tim, we’re humbled!

Word is spreading throughout every county in Maine about Finding Our Voices as a responsive and compassionate resource for women domestic abuse survivors and their families, with such impactful programs as Get Out Stay Out funding, donated dental care, online support group and Healing Together retreats.

We love collaborating and love our referral partners and we love our volunteers including dentists, and we love our donors 'cause they are who fuel us since being grassroots and not wanting to be bogged down in red tape, we take NO government funding.
