We’ve got another gathering coming this weekend as the moon grows full in Taurus, and I hope you’ll be able to join! I don’t know about you, but I could definitely use some grounding amidst the intense energy in the air this week…

✨ Taurus Full Moon Gathering✨
with Maya of @fireflystudiomaine
Sunday, October 25th, 6-7:30 pm
@mainemaritimemuseum

This month we have a chance to move slowly and steadily with Taurus, taking time to root into the earth and release. It feels like the perfect way to step deeper into the season of autumn.

In her newsletter for the astrology of October, Juliana McCarthy of Ethereal Culture notes that with this lunation “Something primal and earthy rises within us... What does our body know that our mind keeps overriding? What are we truly worth? Differences that have been hidden now become obvious. This is a breakdown that leads to a clearing.”

I can’t wait to gather together in community and explore these themes, feeling into the physicality of the body and energy of the earth. Sign up through the museum website with the link in bio, and I’ll see you Sunday!

It's pretty incredible what you can learn when you have a great teacher; someone who pushes you to believe what you are capable of and shares what they have learned over years of practice and dedication.

I have had the privilege of learning from Maria of @fogwood.gardens through her masterclasses this year.

In her classes, we have practiced sustainable floristry mechanics by building floral structures using sustainable practices and local Maine flowers. This is hands-on learning at its finest !

She has several classes and one more masterclass coming up this month...I highly recommend joining these classes and building your skills in sustainable mechanics...Maria is an expert in these builds and practices what she preaches about the importance of reusable floral mechanics!

The photos are from my dried floral installation at Maine Maritime Museum for Maine's first Slow Flowers Event.

To all those who came to this event to support all the floral designers, including myself, thank you so much! Your support meant so much to everyone who worked so hard on this event!

Already looking forward to the next Slow Flowers Event and dreaming up some dried floral installation ideas.

For your next adventure in sustainable floristry-- check out Maria's class offerings on her website! I linked her page in my bio! Whether you have been designing for 15 years or 2, practicing a skill with others who are ready to learn is always worth it!

Ever wonder if there was any real magic practiced during the Salem Witch Trials? While the Village of Salem feared witchcraft to the point of persecution and execution of their friends and neighbors, many members of the community still engaged with folk magic in their daily lives.

✨Join Maya next Thursday, October 15th, to learn all about the folk magic that occurred in Salem during this era, including witch cakes, poppets, oomancy, and more. ✨

We’ll explore the origins of these traditions, investigate how they came into play during the Salem Witch Trials, and practice a 17th-century form of divination together. 🔮

Expect to hear a few connections between Maine and these infamous trials along the way.

Tickets are $30, $35, $40—choose what is appropriate and works for you.

🍷 With complementary light refreshments including beer and wine; come at 6:30 to socialize; lecture begins at 7:00 pm.

Registration through the museum website with the link in bio!

Join us for the Interco(a)stal afternoon program at Maine Maritime Museum!

Registration for the full Interco(a)stal Walk has reached capacity, but afternoon registration is now open.

Join us at Maine Maritime Museum for an afternoon of history, art, performance, food, augmented reality, and community.

Drawing on the work of six Maine museums and historical societies, 14 researchers and community knowledge keepers, and 20 artists, Interco(a)stal brings overlooked Black and Wabanaki maritime histories into public view while exploring Bath’s connections to colonization, slavery and Atlantic commerce, migration, labor, industrialization, ecological change, resistance, and community.

We’ll begin with a shared lunch featuring foodways connected to the histories explored throughout the project, with opportunities to meet Interco(a)stal partners and community organizations.

The afternoon continues across the museum grounds with art installations, performances, poetry, music, historical interpretation, augmented reality experiences, and participatory activities—a collective reimagining of the Wyoming monument.

Come spend the afternoon with us as we recover stories, return them to place, and make room for a fuller understanding of Maine’s maritime past.

Sunday, October 18 | 1–4 PM
Maine Maritime Museum, Bath
Free • Registration required • Lunch included

It’s all in the details 🕷️🌼
Still not over my incredible experince doing the Slow Flowers event that @fogwood.gardens put together. As I reflect on a season of so many incredible opportunities this one is at the top of my list. The idea of doing it again next year is going to keep me warm all winter. So special to see the little details through the lens of @friend2bugs 🌿
