We believe when you are informed and educated on the issues at hand you can focus your efforts towards solutions and not creating negative narratives about those we are called to serve. Thank you Dr. Chike Akua & Ms. Tierica Berry - A Woman's Standard for your efforts this past week. The awareness and education helped build a more capable individual and also a stronger community.

Video Cred to Adrienna Lynn Digital- amazing work as always. Grateful for your work🖤

“There are people out there doing the work, who have solutions to it. We examine some of those different solutions and systems that can be put in place to disrupt systems that are inequitable and oppressive.”
Dr. Chike Akua

“I was able to share with the staff the different components of showing up together to support getting our youth from point A to point B, helping them actualize success in their life.” Ms. Tierica Berry

A Great Big Thank you to Kyle Strickland, Maisee Fried, Willis Blackshear, Jr., the Kirwan Institute, & The Ohio State University Faculty!!

My Brother’s Keeper & My Sisters Keeper Dayton collaborated with MBK Ohio & The Ohio State University so that our friends @ Dayton Public Schools Cultural Engagement & Inclusion Seniors could experience The Ohio State University!

They experienced college life through an admissions overview, lunch at the Union, campus tour, and a behind-the-scenes look at the Ohio Stadium. #WeAreMBK

2021 was a wild ride. I graduated from The Ohio State University. I took trips to Mexico, Florida, and Virginia. I spent time w friends and creating beautiful memories. I have people in my corner I can always count on… I’m blessed. This year was full of growth and joy and I’m so excited for the next chapter. Thanks for making 2021 an amazing year.

As my second year of service with @americorps comes to a close, I'm reflecting on all the growth and opportunity during my time with @mbk_ohio. A special thank you to those who have supported, mentored and empowered me during this journey!
