The best ideas for Nanaimo’s business community begin with listening.

The Greater Nanaimo Chamber of Commerce recently brought together local retailers and small business owners for a Small Business & Retail Roundtable. The discussion created space to share experiences, identify challenges, and explore opportunities to strengthen Nanaimo’s retail community.

Thank you to all the businesses that joined us and shared their valuable perspectives.

At least I’ll look like I’m a professional and know what I’m doing. Just received my lovely apron from @maisoncookware and I couldn’t be happier. Great apron, better customer service.

Julia House, owner of Nanaimo’s go-to kitchenware store @maisoncookware , cooks with 🌶️🦆 like its second nature.

At Julia’s home, Holy Duck Chili Oil goes on everything. “We haven’t found a dish yet that we haven’t loved it in.” From braised pork belly to banh mi burgers, noodles, roast chicken, even tuna salad and popcorn, nothing is safe in the best way. ⚡️

And when it comes to gifting, Julia is a woman on a mission: “I’ve already gifted several jars… OG for my uncle in Toronto, Extra Ducking Spicy to my spice-loving in-laws, and Zero Ducks to my vegan friend up the road.”

Swipe to read more about Julia’s nine years of running this local gem on Vancouver Island and follow the Holy Duck Trail this sizzling season of gifting! 🌶️❤️‍🔥

You should check this beauty from Uganda! Big body, dark choco, juicy raisiny middle, and clean. This is a modern style espresso without the bitter burnt ashtray notes. Also, like all our coffees, delicious by any brew method.
