An extraordinary production drawing featuring Kaioh from Fist of the North Star.

This original genga reveals the remarkable strength of the pencil work behind one of the most intimidating characters of the series. The sharp lines, the construction of the mask and the powerful symmetry of the design clearly echo the distinctive character animation style associated with Masami Suda.

What makes this sheet particularly fascinating are the many production notes and color indications visible across the drawing. These annotations guided the painting and compositing of the final animation frame, offering a rare glimpse into the working process of the studio.

More than a drawing, this is a true animation document, a piece of the production itself that shows how the iconic design of Kaioh was built line by line before reaching the screen.

Available and part of the Maison Saucisse animation art collection.

Dr. Slump Syoppaman & Suppaman Production Cel

Continuing our Toriyama tribute with this rare character pairing: an original hand-painted production cel with stuck douga featuring both Syoppaman and Suppaman (in his civilian Charmy Yamada outfit)!

This exceptional cel captures two of Toriyama’s most hilarious superhero parody characters in the same frame—a truly uncommon combination that makes this piece particularly special for collectors. Suppaman (in his mild-mannered secret identity as Charmy Yamada) alongside Syoppaman perfectly showcases Toriyama’s genius for creating comedic character duos with complementary visual designs.

What makes this pairing particularly amusing is how both characters represent different aspects of Toriyama’s superhero satire—Suppaman as the delusional wannabe hero with no actual powers, and Syoppaman as the accidentally effective hero whose « superpower » is simply colliding into threats due to his poor eyesight. Together, they embody Toriyama’s playful mockery of superhero tropes that was years ahead of its time.

The rare production anomaly of having the cel and douga physically stuck together preserves this unique character interaction exactly as it existed during the animation process—offering collectors an authentic glimpse into how Toei Animation brought these beloved parody characters to life with traditional hand-painted techniques.

Dr. Slump Senbei Extreme Expression Production Cel
Continuing our Toriyama tribute with this incredible piece: an original hand-painted production cel of Senbei Norimaki with one of his signature over-the-top expressions!
This spectacular cel captures the manic energy that made Dr. Slump such a revolutionary comedy series. Senbei's wildly exaggerated face—complete with gaping mouth, gritted teeth, and intense emotion—showcases Toriyama's unparalleled mastery of comedic facial expressions that influenced generations of manga and anime artists.
The distinctive blue jacket with heart emblem and red-billed cap are instantly recognizable elements of Senbei's classic design. Toriyama's genius for character expression is perfectly preserved in this cel—showing how he could stretch facial features to absurd proportions while maintaining a character's core identity, creating humor through this perfect balance of recognition and exaggeration.
What makes Toriyama's approach to these explosive reactions so effective is his attention to subtle details—from the tiny sweat drop to the perfectly rendered teeth—that ground even the most outlandish expressions in a kind of visual logic that makes them believable within the world he created.

Continuing our Toriyama tribute with this emblematic piece: an original production cel featuring a stunning close-up portrait of Senbei Norimaki wearing his distinctive "Slump" cap with eyes closed in one of his famous inner dialogue moments!

This exceptional cel perfectly captures the duality that made Senbei such a rich character—the moment when his serious, romantic side temporarily overcomes his typically manic inventor persona. Toriyama's genius for character expression is on full display here, showing how he could convey complex emotional states with seemingly simple designs.

These introspective moments, where Senbei's inner dialogue revealed his deeper thoughts and feelings, provided Dr. Slump with unexpected emotional depth beneath its zany comedy. His ability to shift between explosive energy and thoughtful reflection made him a far more nuanced protagonist than was typical in comedy manga of that era.

The "Slump" cap—a recurring visual element throughout the series—became an iconic part of Senbei's identity, instantly recognizable to fans worldwide. This close-up portrait preserves that signature design element alongside the character's most revealing expression, creating a truly emblematic piece of animation history.

Dragon Ball Z Krillin Shirtless & Injured Production Cel
Continuing our Toriyama tribute with this exceptional piece for Krillin fans: an original hand-painted production cel with stuck douga featuring a shirtless and injured Krillin in remarkable condition!
This powerful cel captures one of Dragon Ball's most enduring supporting characters in a moment of vulnerability that showcases Toriyama's skill at depicting battle damage with emotional impact. Despite frequently finding himself outmatched by increasingly powerful enemies, Krillin's unwavering determination in the face of overwhelming odds made him one of the series' most relatable and beloved characters.
What makes this piece particularly special is its pristine condition—preserving the vibrant colors and detailed linework exactly as they appeared during production. The rare anomaly of having the cel and douga physically stuck together offers collectors an authentic glimpse into the traditional animation process, with perfect registration between the drawing and painted elements.
Krillin's evolution throughout the series—from Goku's rival to his closest friend and trusted ally—represents one of Toriyama's most successful character arcs. This cel captures the physical toll of that journey while highlighting the character's surprising resilience despite lacking the Saiyan advantages of his companions.

Dragon Ball Kame-Sennin Episode 8 Production Cel
Continuing our Toriyama tribute with this historic piece: an original production cel with stuck douga featuring Kame-Sennin from Episode 8 of Dragon Ball—the legendary episode where the Kamehameha Wave was first revealed to the world!
This exceptional cel captures one of the most pivotal moments in anime history—when the seemingly silly old hermit first demonstrated the iconic energy technique that would become synonymous with the entire Dragon Ball franchise. This watershed moment from September 1986 completely transformed viewers’ understanding of the series and its world, establishing the supernatural power system that would evolve throughout Dragon Ball’s epic journey.
Episode 8 (“The Kamehameha Wave”) represents a perfect example of Toriyama’s storytelling genius—using a comedic character to unexpectedly introduce an element that would fundamentally reshape the narrative direction of the entire series. The dramatic impact of seeing the goofy old master suddenly demonstrate immense power established the pattern of surprising character depths that would become a hallmark of Toriyama’s approach.
The rare production anomaly of having the cel and douga physically stuck together preserves this historic moment exactly as it existed during the animation process—offering collectors an authentic piece of anime history from the exact episode that introduced the most famous energy technique in Japanese animation.
