It was such a cultural extravaganza at Vidhanasaudha this Independence Day.
Freedom Habba definitely brought so many people together.

What fun it was to collaborate with @taletrails17 to present a folktale from Karnataka in tandem.

Inspired by the Story Knot by @storytellernupur and @storipur_priya_storyteller we performed this tandem telling in #english and #kannada

Thank you @bondoverbindings to introduce both of us.

Stories always bond and help share joy and happiness, isn't it?

It was an honour and privilege to be a part of Independence Day celebration at the Makkala Mela organized by #karnatakagovernment

Thank you so much @bondoverbindings and team for inviting Tuntuni to Makkala Mela at Freedom Habba and making this whole experience so worthwhile.

In the Storytelling world, we say, "We don't choose a story, a story chooses us."

This holds true for me too. Tuntuni from @eklavya.foundation is one such story.

Tuntuni was my first #kamishibai story adapted from the Hindi story Tuntuni written by @kehetkapil and published by Eklavya Publication. It was first presented at an online event by Indian Kamishibai Association, then at the annual Enlitkids Fest at Pune. Tuntuni has been loved and appreciated by audience of all age groups and few other storytellers told this story on different platforms in different events including one at the Rashtrapati Bhavan.
Thank you Vaishnovi Madupu for creating the amazing picture cards.

It was so much of fun to meet and interact with fellow storytellers and authors. Loved interacting with you Reena, Rupa, Anupama @awwabooks @maithriarunkumar @taletrails17 @sahana_shetty @therainlilyproject

And the best part? You don't even have to do or be anything special to wield in that power. All your baby needs is you, just as you are.

Now tell me, fellow mommies - what's your baby's most common "on" trigger for crying??
Mine is putting her down when asleep - I put her down, she'll bring the roof down with those screams!

Thank you Akshata Hegde

Book Title : Putti Gets Glasses
Written by : Dr. Maithri Arunkumar
Illustrated by : Soundarya Gottapu
Published by : Harivu Books
Story line: Putti is a happy girl who enjoys going to school. One day, her teacher identifies that she cannot see the blackboard from distance. Putti’s mother takes her to eye doctor and checks her vision. Putti now gets her glasses. What happens to Putti at school? Did Putti’s friends teased or understood her.

This book speaks a lot about bullying and how the emotioanl support system for a child starts at home.

This book also acts as a tool that directs the readers to respond to the bullying rather reacting to it.

Myopia or any eye deficiency in that case shouldn’t be considered as a hurdle rather lets encourage our children to navigate it by believing in themselves.

I also perceive this book to be “the voice of inner - child” of the author that nudges the parents and caretakers to always stand for their child, no matter what.

Adding on to it, this book also conveys a strong message/ awareness about the routine eye checkups that helps parents to identify any vision defects in the early stage and negate major eye issues in future.

The author Maithri’s precise yet rhythmic way of writing makes this book a delightful reads for kids and adults.

I totally loved the character sketching style of Putti by the illustrator @soundaryagottapu. A quirky, minimalistic and doodle like style adds value to this strong storyline.

Nothing is so cool and precious than getting a signed copy of book from the author @maithriarunkumar 😍Thank you so much for writing this wonderful book.

It was indeed a Surprise Sunday for me, met you @travelling_bookshop

A must read for all parents and caretakers.
