Fireside Chat with Dr. Hatem Bazian and Majdi Gaith 🍉

Students of all backgrounds are invited to a conversation with my mentor, teacher, and friend, Dr. Hatem Bazian.

I’m a dual citizen Palestinian-American and Cal alumnus running for Berkeley City Council, District 4 (Downtown and Central Berkeley). Dr. Bazian taught me, my sibling, and my wife at Cal, so sitting down with him is a full-circle moment for me.

We’ll discuss my campaign and platform, what’s happening on campus, and Palestine in any capacity. The audience will have a chance to ask questions as well.

📍 SoCo - Solidarity Collective 2170 Dwight
🗓️ September 29th
⌚ 5 PM

About Dr. Bazian: Dr. Bazian is a professor at UC Berkeley in Middle East Languages and Cultures and Asian American and Asian Diaspora Studies, and a co-founder of Zaytuna College, the first accredited Muslim liberal arts college in the U.S. He’s a leading scholar in Islamophobia Studies, a co-founder of American Muslims for Palestine, and the author of several books, including his latest, Erasures: Immigration and Refugees: The Collapse of the Post-Colonial World Order.

Meet Majdi Gaith, running to represent District 4 on the Berkeley City Council.

Majdi is a former Peace and Justice Commissioner, Trust and Safety policy professional, small business owner, father, and UC Berkeley graduate running to Bring Integrity Back to Berkeley.

The election is November 3rd. This is a people-powered campaign, and we need all of you with us to build a progressive coalition and challenge the establishment politics that have controlled City Hall for too long.

Join us tomorrow, September 19th, at 10 AM for our biggest canvassing event yet! Meet us at MLK & Addison. Bring your friends, family, and loved ones and join us in talking with Berkeley voters!

Visit majdiforberkeley.com to get involved, volunteer, donate, and learn more about our platform and policy proposals.
