What do I know about style?

A kid from Walker County, Alabama, who grew up of meager means, to say the least.

I know that for me, it’s both nurture and nature. The people I’ve known and the places I’ve been have colored the way I see the world, while the values instilled in me as a child still guide the way I show up to serve my clients and their guests.

But the reason I crafted this story so? Because style is also a feeling, a way of being. A grace of hospitality and care. And so, this story became about the people and places that embody those things for me. I describe Birmingham as “a big small town” and am ever proud of the genuine Southern hospitality I witness here at home. Maybe that is what home and style share. They both tell the story of who we are. I know that I feel wonderfully at home in the corner bar seat at Bottega, watching the parade of personalities go by - each with a style all their own.

Thank you to Kali McNutt of Birmingham Lifestyle Magazine for allowing me the honor of sharing a part of my life. David, Dana, Mary, Pardis, Mandy, Roy, and the many others who helped realize this story, I give you my deepest gratitude.

This is a moment of my life, frozen in time, that I will look back on with great joy and pride.

The First Annual Clover Social. 🍀 Hosted by @jaybarrphotography and @kindredweddingco

A room intentionally kept small and filled with Southeastern wedding professionals who pursue excellence, not only in their craft, but in the way they show up for their couples and for each other.

One of our favorite moments of the night was a surprise we had been quietly working on behind the scenes.

Each guest received letters from their past clients, sharing how their work, care, and presence impacted their wedding day.

Watching those letters be opened, read, and felt in real time was something I don’t think any of us will forget.

Because the truth is, this industry is filled with people who pour their whole hearts into celebrating others.

Clover Social was created to connect them.

The planners who carry the day on their shoulders.
The creatives who obsess over the tiny details.
The vendors who show up early, stay late, answer quickly, follow through, and care deeply about the people they serve.

The best of the best in the room together.
