We had our friends Mina and Garrett come train with us at Oak Island Fitness this weekend, and this is one of the coolest parts about what we’ve built. We love having people come through our facilities, train hard, experience the atmosphere, and leave knowing they’re always welcome back. Do us a favor and give these two a follow. @garrettmckean @major.mina Mina continues to make huge strides as an IFBB Pro, with her eyes set on earning her way to the Olympia stage. Garrett is still in pursuit of that Pro Card. He was literally inches away at this year’s North Americans, and anyone who knows his work ethic knows it’s only a matter of time. Two incredible athletes, but even better people. We’re grateful they spent the weekend with us at Oak Island Fitness, and we’ll be cheering them on every step of the way. Keep working. Keep showing up. It’s only a matter of time. 💪

Laugh with your girls. Celebrate the small wins. Remember the tiring workouts, the early morning cardio sessions, the posing sessions filled with muscle cramps, the butterflies at check-ins, the smell of freshly sprayed tan, posing practice, and all the moments in between. My Mina Moon 🌙 Happy “last” birthday 29 years ago, you came into this world and made it a better place you just didn’t know it yet. I don’t think you realize the impact you have on the people around you. I’ve had the privilege of watching you help others find confidence in themselves, push them beyond what they thought they were capable of, and become better versions of who they are today. You have especially done the same for me and some. You bring out a version of me that I didn’t know I was capable of. You challenge me, support me, believe in me, and most importantly love me in ways I didn’t know I needed. Your love has changed me for the best and getting to love you is something I’ll never take for granted. You are the most selfless person I know. You give so much of yourself to the people you care about without ever asking for anything in return. So today, I want you to do something that doesn’t come naturally to you…let everyone celebrate YOU! Let yourself receive the love, appreciation, and kind words from all of the people whose lives are better because you were just being you. You deserve every bit of it. I hope this birthday reminds you just how loved you are, how much you’ve accomplished, and how many lives you’ve touched simply by being yourself. If there’s ONE piece of advice I could give a new competitor… POSE, POSE, POSE. 🩷 Daily posing reps will make such a difference in your confidence on stage. Pose with a mirror, pose without one, record yourself, and get comfortable with how each pose feels in your body. For me, posing did not come naturally. I felt awkward, overthought every movement, and had to really learn how to make the poses feel like me. The more you practice, the less you have to think about it — and the more you can actually enjoy your time on stage. ✨ Don’t wait until peak week to start posing. Your posing deserves just as much practice as your physique. 🏆 #fyp #posing #bodybuilding #explorepage #reelstrending
