Here’s a bit of noodling in fDGCD tuning, my new gig is I provide entertainment for local Alaskan Malamutes - me and my dad did a chili cook off at Savory Spice here in Portland (we came in second which is neat) and I loitered and played banjo👍🐌🪕🪿🪕

I was lucky enough to see an astounding show from Iron & Wine (which I would argue is my favorite musician probably ever), there was breathtaking shadow puppetry work accompanying Sam and the band on many songs (and now I wanna learn how to do it).

I also saw friends, friends are a good thing to have, I haven’t befriended a single person my age here in Portland (which has been interesting). So actually seeing people that are my peers was good, and something I really need to do more🗣️🐝🧜🏻‍♂️

Shout out to @makemeachevy for all of his hard work appraising all 500+ vintage vinyl records in our shop. He’s passionate about historical music and taught us a lot along the way. Thanks for your help Matt!

The long awaited return… in the form of some doodles I did on printer paper. It’s been a good while since I really did anything visual, I just kinda haven’t needed to, I’ve been busy enough moving, writing, and learning instruments. I’m gonna try and keep making simple stuff in the near future, and will share a lot of my written art🖤

I have a new account which documents vernacular photography I collect, if you’re interested - @songsandfoundimages

Alright here’s the scoop, next Sunday (7/23) there will be a show at Bang Up To The Elephant (right by Wax Trax) from 1-3 PM, there are 2 main bands on the bill and a special performance from Mr. Pollution. I will have A WHOLE BUNCH of my art for sale, stuff going pretty far back and some more recent things. I wanna find homes for as much of my stuff as I can since I’m leaving the state towards the end of August, THIS MAY BE YOUR LAST CHANCE TO GET MY WORK, so ya know, help me have less shit to move🖤

Here are the three things I worked on yesterday, the first one is based on a really unflattering photo I took of myself that was too good to neglect.

The other seven images are things I posted yesterday, but the post got all kinds of messed up, so here’s what you missed.

(Most of the images got messed up👍)

I took a pretty good break from visual art for a while in favor of figuring out my approach to writing. My perspective on visual work has changed a bit as well, I hope to do some stuff that feels fresh to me.

Quite a few completed drawings, I’ve been using water-based ink a lot more as a base. There are some words I’ve arranged in the last slide, I’ve been doing that lately🖤
