Things I’ve seen - and a thing I wrote:

In the midst of June descending - there are green things and a weight that has us in its grasp - there are days where adorned is a crown of salt-water-beads decorating sweat wiping brows - there are evenings where a porch-swing-perch is for longstanding lungs to inhale smoke made with sharing in mind, carried in slow drags and chopstick-finger posture - there is a sun to warm maiden-voyage passage spent arm-in-arm and step-by-step together - in the midst of shadow retreating necessity we will be empty canteens and thirsty mouths wilting in the sunshine - and together we will be waiting on a warm night for the wind to stretch out its hand and ask for a dance - to dance free as windswept seeds hoping for a soft place to land! by @makemeachevy

Here’s a bit of noodling in fDGCD tuning, my new gig is I provide entertainment for local Alaskan Malamutes - me and my dad did a chili cook off at Savory Spice here in Portland (we came in second which is neat) and I loitered and played banjo👍🐌🪕🪿🪕

A little bit ago I found this old abandoned house in my neighborhood - I don’t know why but it really struck a chord with me, it carries a sense of longing in its decay. I can’t really explain it so here’s a poem I wrote about it:

Silent are walls without faces-framed hanging - here, a stillness in the place of voices no longer chiming with good morning chirps… Silent like “nobody lives here anymore” - silent as this house, all chewed up in baleen-weed filled jaws, marked by the scratches of branching bramble claws - pieces of you may be found among the decay, scattered now like pale-purple-paint-chips flaking away and falling to the earth - pieces of you make me smile, make my eyes welled in the somber beauty of remnants - “nobody lives here anymore” is the timber frame knotted and tired, lulling its head from time to time as it falters - “nobody lives here anymore” is your silhouette unseen - yet still implied - implied in dust floating through breeze-less rooms, floating about your cenotaph now wasting into idleness - these pieces of you still shine - through rust and tarnish - through years and their passing - through it all. taken in Sellwood, Oregon by @makemeachevy
