The Breakaway shenanigans this weekend were brought to you by house music, loving the homies, and Jimmy John's.

Some moments don’t need a long explanation.

Over 20 years ago, I danced to these songs surrounded by people who became family.

Life happened. Loss happened. Time happened.

This weekend wasn’t just about music. It was about coming home.

Coming home to a community that leads with kindness, connection, and love. Coming home to a part of myself I hadn’t realized I’d missed.

“Never Forget About Love.”
“We Are All We Need.”

Those aren’t just lyrics or messages on a screen.

They’re something so much bigger than all of us.

They mean something entirely different to me now than they did all those years ago.

I carried a little piece of my mom and Ruthie with me, and somehow they were there-in every smile, every hug, every beat, every reminder that love never really leaves us.

To everyone I met this weekend... @danm1297 @fitzjoy1love @paavoab @jonogrant @aboveandbeyond @bostonanjunafamily @newyorkanjunafamily @kaeno @gelovalle thank you for welcoming me with open arms. It was such a gift getting to laugh, dance, hug complete strangers, and leave feeling like I’d known you forever.

And to @becky6219 ,@ichiroa, @nadine.nxn and Erica... thank you for helping make this weekend one I'll carry with me for the rest of my life.

Full circle. Home again. ♥️✨🎶
