That’s a wrap on 1088 Lafond!

Wow, this project was way more involved than my last but we chipped away at things as they popped up and it ended up better than I could have imaged. I learned a lot about stair parts, boiler systems, and restoring original woodwork. The power of compliments to your crew (I’m working on this!). And the importance of ideal timing when listing your house (a few days before a major election may not be the best…).

I met a lot of neighbors. They cheered me on and came by to get updates often. They gave me plants for the front yard. They told me lovely stories of the previous owners. I love the feeling of the whole neighborhood watching the project happen-it’s such a motivator!

I feel so lucky to have gotten the opportunity to restore such an old, beautiful home. I had a really sweet group of friends gather at the house for a send off party last night and we filled the house with laughter. That might have been my favorite part of this whole renovation ❤️

Big thanks to my realtor, and dear friend, that always has my back: Greta Fay, @gretafay
Incredible stager that gets my style and just nails it: Lindsay Reine @lindsayreine
Hard Money Lender: Renovo @renovo, and my go-to guy about all money and business questions,

Hi! I wanted to connect on behalf of @gnarcyteam. We've got some awesome jewelry lined up, and I reckon you'd be the best match to rock our latest collection of masculine accessories!

If you're interested, we'd love to hook you up with 3 pieces on the house! Yup, you read that right – totally FREE!

Just shoot a DM over to our main account @gnarcyteam (if you dont see a DM button, just reply to any of their stories), and our guy Shawn will sort you out pronto! But hey, don't sleep on it – spots are filling up fast, and we'd hate for you to miss out on the action! Cheers, mate! 🤙

My dad is a letterpress printer and book maker, and has been since I was a little boy. I remember feeling little love for these lumbering mechanical marvels as my siblings and I got roped into moving his shop from place to place throughout our childhood. It was a grease-laden and grueling physical affair! As an adult, though, I find myself drawn to the machines. They're fascinating to watch as they hum, clank, and click along. Those sounds and the smell of ink transport me to what feels like three lifetimes ago.

I just got back from a very special time at @haystack_school
I had the privilege of joining the class taught by @sawyer_made teaching how to make a chair from a tree. I still can’t believe we all started from a log in the parking lot and ended up with these magical objects. I spent two weeks working alongside a cast of super talented people from diverse places, and big hearts. I learned so many new tools and processes that I will be bringing into my sculptures moving forward. Thank you @haystack_school for having me join once again your grounds. Thank you @sawyer_made and @obviously_im_eli_barlow for teaching us the proper way and the cowboy way to make a chair ❤️🪑

Salt cellar collaboration with @makeroommpls ! Lovely hand carved spoons with inlaid stripe inspired the design of the cellars showing off a band of black clay. I’ll have these Saturday (10-6) and Sunday (10-5) in Taylor’s Falls with the @roguepotterspottery 33280 Vista Road Taylors Falls, MN 55084

We are now Minneapolis home owners! We bought in a crazy market, but it didn’t feel like a crazy process thanks to the level-head and advocacy of @gretafay our good friend and realtor. We got this sweet little house on a sweet little block, right next to Minnehaha creek-a dreamy location for Lucian to grow up in and for our whole family to enjoy year round. Love that we got to celebrate the news of our accepted offer with some of our dear friends @makeroommpls and @sarahs209. Really soaking up all the love and support from dream team that made this all happen! @andersonrealtymn @jamincousins
