Corsica, 😄@makespacejournal FACE-A-FACE with @amelia_tavella – By connecting with the memory of a place, the Corsican architect draws on what already exists to pave the way for a bright future. Between tradition and modernity, audacity and sobriety, Amelia Tavella breathes new life into heritage buildings in a meaningful manner. Engaging in artistic collaborations, she works on materiality to develop constructions that fit perfectly into their context. We’ve met her in her loft apartment in the heart of Île Saint-Louis to discuss her personal approach to architecture and her new chapter in Paris.

As a true theatre of life, buildings evolve and endure beyond generations. Being an architect means being a conduit. That is why she focuses primarily on projects of general interest that benefit society and have a strong cultural connection. She makes a point to ensure consistency between the construction and its context, as in the case of the A Strega school in southern Corsica, which blends harmoniously into the surrounding maquis, or the exceptional Rebirth of the Convent Saint-François in Corsica, which earned a place as a finalist for the prestigious Mies Van der Rohe Award in 2024.

Balenciaga hats taking a break together, buttons on a hike, “The United Details” beautifully underlining the small pieces that make the difference: Danish artist @rasmusmyrup gives centre stage to those who usually remain in the shadows : the accessories become protagonists.

For the exhibition “Accoutrements” at @cacyverdon , in collaboration with the Musée suisse de la Mode @mumode_suisse, he subtly reinterprets a selection of 20th-century accessories and garments, carefully chosen among the vast collection. Through his work, he questions social norms, power relations and the reproduction of roles.

👉 Save the date for his talk on Scandinavian Art, this Thursday November 20, from 6.30 to 8.00, at @cacyverdon.

This exhibition runs until January 2025, don’t miss it 🔥

Grateful for this beautiful collaboration with the great teams of @cacyverdon and @mumode_suisse to support the communication around this exhibition.

It’s already time to look back at the big projects led this year: starting with the great memories from the IN SITU showroom organised last April with the iconic Swiss brands @horgenglarus, @schaetti_leuchten and @kramis_teppich_design in the headquarters of @qoqa.ch.

It was so fun to organise this pop-up showroom, imagine and style the scenes and welcome all the professionals, architects and interior designer to present them this impressive Swiss know-how. Thank you all for the great moments 🤍

Swiss Brands United 🇨🇭🤝🏻

@geraldinemorand from @makespacejournal and @meienbergerdaniel made it possible.

From April 26-28, the „IN SITU“ event for architects and interior designers took place in Bussigny @qoqa.ch (Next to Lausanne).

Besides sharing interior scenes with @horgenglarus and @schaetti_leuchten we were allowed to present our craft to make KRAMIS more known in the French part of Switzerland.

We would like to thank all visitors and the organizing team for this great event, which was absolutely worth it.

By the way: We decided to make a rose, so everyone falls in love with KRAMIS. ❤️🌹
