🧰💉💪🏻👩🏻‍⚕️Just another tool in my tool box. Starting my GLP-1 journey is for more than just battling regain.

•I’m doing it to help manage my reactive hypoglycemia.

•To quiet the constant food noise.

•To reduce inflammation.

•To support my body as I navigate autoimmune disease.

I’m pairing it with:
•Weight training/lifting
•Balanced plates that fuel my body
•Plenty of water
•Taking my vitamins
•Mindset work
•Moving my body
•Working closely with my care team
•And daily habits that support long-term health.

This is about feeling better in my body. Protecting my health. And using every tool available to help me live more fully.
@valhalla.vitality has been great through the entire process making everything easy, informative, safe, and patient care centered. I have felt seen, heard, and not alone. I want you to know that it is OKAY to ask for help. That access to affordable Treatment is available. That you are worthy of that help. That you are NOT alone. End the stigma. Obesity is a chronic disease and tools/treatments are available. If you have been thinking about if a GLP1 or other therapy may be options for you I highly recommend reaching out to your care team/Valhalla Vitality and book your free consultation with a real doctor/NP/PA (not some AI). Use code: BARIATRICWARRIOR to save $, which also supports me & my family. 🔗 in bio. Excited to share this journey with all of you and also root you on your journey too! https://valhallavitality.com/?ref=REF-XSYD91-UH8W #ad #obesitymedicine #valhallavitality #bariatricwarrior #wlscommunity

Do one thing today that future you will thank you for.

Not ten things. Not a complete life overhaul. Just one.

Maybe it’s taking care of your body, setting a boundary, making a plan, or finally doing something you’ve been avoiding.

Small choices add up. Take care of future you today.

Last year of middle school for these girls!! They’ve been together since Elementary school and their friendship bonds continue to grow with them. I know Ethan secretly giggles at them as he quietly chokes on three different kinds of strongly sweet perfume scents. Love these kids and the honor of driving them to school together. Hope all your kids have a great school year!!

How do you keep up with a weight loss journey while raising FOUR kids?

After her first pregnancy, she had gained 60 pounds and suddenly the gym routine she shared with her husband wasn’t so simple anymore.

With every pregnancy, things changed. By baby #4, she gained just 12 pounds and lost it within two weeks.

Such a real conversation about motherhood, changing routines, and figuring out how to keep showing up for yourself.

Day 12 post-op and your girl is trying CHICKEN. 😂

I’ve been taking my bariatric revision recovery slow with protein shakes and soft foods, but today felt like the day to try a little chicken.

Tiny bites, chew the hell out of it, and listen to my body. So far, so good! Now we wait and see if my stomach agrees.

Who remembers their first real food after surgery?

I know drains are annoying. I know you want them out.

But your body gets a vote, too.

If your surgeon tells you to track your drainage, keep the area clean, and wait until your body is ready… do it.

A little inconvenience now can mean better healing and better results long term.

That’s exactly why we made this episode of The Cutting Edge Podcast because so many of you had questions about drains.

🎙️ Available now on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, and iHeart.

Drop your drain questions below!

Waking up choking on reflux is NOT normal.

One of the most eye opening conversations from the newest episode of Our Sleeved Life Podcast was learning how serious acid reflux, bile reflux, and hiatal hernias can become after bariatric surgery.

So many people think reflux is just annoying, but it can impact your stomach, esophagus, sleep, and overall health.

This episode features insights from Dr. Dovec @drdovec , Hannah RD @hannahschuyler.rd , and the team at Body By Bariatrics @bodybybariatrics , and it’s packed with information every bariatric patient should know.

🎙️ Listen now on Our Sleeved Life Podcast on YouTube, Spotify, Apple Podcasts, or wherever you get your podcasts.

This conversation hit HARD 💔

People love to shame bariatric patients or people using GLP-1s without realizing how complex obesity and food addiction really are 😭

Because here’s the thing… you can separate yourself from drugs or alcohol. But food? You literally NEED food to survive. You still have to grocery shop, cook, eat, go to restaurants, celebrate with food, and face that relationship every single day 🤘🏻🤘🏻🤘🏻

That’s why obesity isn’t just about “willpower.” There’s mental, emotional, physical, and addictive components to it for SO many people

And honestly? More compassion and less judgment would go a long way 👀💕

What’s one thing you wish people understood about obesity or weight loss surgery?

😭REAL. RAW. AUTHENTIC. If I am quiet.. know I am NOT ignoring you. Prayers and check ins appreciated! A lot has happened in the last two weeks that has been incredibly hard. My Situational Depression and anxiety (around the time my loved ones passed/holidays) is high around the month of June already. 12 years since my father passed from ALS Lou Gherigs Disease. He was 55. Father’s day, which we also celebrate our grandfathers.

💔My Grandfather is actively dying. He has CHF and AFIB that has failed cardioversion/meds/etc. His care team all confirmed that there is nothing else that can be done. He has Hospice Home health started last week. Today his third wire of his pacemaker was turned off this is the defibrillator part of a pacemaker that would repeatedly shock someone back into rhythm if cardiac arrest occurs. My Grandfather signed a DNR. It a very horrific thing to see and of course for a loved one to feel being shocked repeatedly. He is off his blood thinners etc. His hearts Ejection Fraction is 17-22. Normal is 50-70. He also has prostate cancer ( he already battled bladder cancer in full remission many years ago) and it can be any day now. He is receiving meds etc to make him comfortable. All the family is flying or coming to see him. He is surrounded by loved ones.

💔It hurts my heart so much. And its especially hard going through this during a major recovery myself that had some hiccups last week ending in 3 er visits and 18 sutures.

🫠I am tired mentally, emotionally, and physically. So many tears.

✈️ We are headed to Florida to be surrounded by family and my Grandpa. To say see you later… because goodbyes are too hard. 🙏🏻Thank you for being here friends. For all the love, support, prayers always. I know I say this often and how appreciative I am. I will never stop saying this and being grateful for each and every one of you. You all truly mean so much to me and so does your prayers, support, etc. #grieving #griefandloss #prayers #thisisnotgoodbye #thisisseeyoulater

Okay… am I the only one that opens the fridge and suddenly NOTHING sounds good?! 😭😂

So this week on The Weekly Chew we said “cool… let’s clean this fridge out before we waste food again”

And somehow we turned random leftovers into:
🥘 protein meals
🍳 easy breakfasts
🥗 quick lunches
🍝 comfort food
🍰 high protein desserts

Honestly this might be one of my FAVORITE menus because it feels realistic. Real life gets busy. Groceries get forgotten. And sometimes we need meals that help us use what we already have without feeling overwhelmed.

Inside The Weekly Chew you get:
✨ full weekly menus
✨ easy high protein recipes
✨ grocery lists
✨ meal inspiration
✨ simple realistic food ideas
✨ support from people on the same journey

No boring diet food. No complicated chef recipes. Just real food for real people trying to do better 💚
