Our summer exhibition is here!

“Cat Deluxe at Night” brings together the practices of Mathilda Läckberg Holmquist and Elin Meijer in an immersive exhibition of photography and textile.

Second artist announcement: Mathilda Läckberg Holmquist!

-Mathilda Läckberg Holmquist (b. 1993, Trollhättan) is a visual artist primarily working with photography. Her practice centres on concepts rooted in her personal sphere and archives, bringing them into dialogue with collective memories. Working within a hyper-digital aesthetic, Holmquist combines photography with objects and materials that challenge conventional modes of display and framing. She holds a BA in Photography from HDK-Valand (2021-2024) and has also studied at OCAD University in Toronto (2023), Göteborgs Konstskola (2019-2020), and Gamleby Folkhögskola (2018-2019). In February 2026, she presented her first solo exhibition, “That’s Amore”, at Konsthallen Trollhättan.

Heyya Im @malho!

I have a BA in photography and this is my take on the final project - meal three, roaming the fields- and my work is a photobook called ”Golden Flower”.

Golden Flower is a chinese restaurant in my hometown and the other week I got the news that they are closing down after 33 years in the business.

My relationship to this restaurant is that my grandfather have been celebrating many of his birthdays here together with the whole family.

The interior and the menu has basically stayed the same and intact throughout the years, so it was an obvious choice for me to document and make an archive of this lovely institution.

Save the date, 04.05-26.05 2024!

The exhibition ”Hot Shoe” explores temporal aspects in relation to materials, places, light, and sound. The works challenge traditional contexts and open up for more interpretations and worlds. Artists utilize technical, historical, pop cultural, and theoretical aspects within photography to broaden our understanding of what photography is and can be.

This year’s graduation exhibition with students from the photography program at HDK-Valand - Academy of Art and Design takes place at Röda Sten Konsthall in Gothenburg. Students from both bachelor’s and master’s programs present their works through various forms of expression. In addition to photography, sculpture, installations, sound pieces, publications, and video art are also exhibited.

Hey! My name is Mathilda (@malho) and I spent my spring semester over at @ocaduniversity in Toronto!

”BESTSELLER BILLY” is an ongoing project that I mainly focused on this spring.

”Billy” is a bookcase and is one of IKEAs top selling items. I used that as an inspiration for both the title and the installation. The photographs contains objects that are inspired by 90’s aesthetics that are somewhat connected to the body. The bookcase represents the end station for where these trinkets and fragments from the past usually ends up.

The images are printed on cotton satin fabric and the frames are made in mdf. 🐬
