so much appreciation to the homies ✨ and all the good folks who has showed up, supported, showed loved and touched me along the journey of making @foldingchairpvd a thing 🪑 not only a small project of cosplaying host and shopkeeper but actually a thing many can share and enjoy together.

If you know me, I like cute stuff 😝 But really, I enjoy sharing it with others, like how I enjoy sharing space, and gathering, and connecting with neighbors, and making stuff with friends, and making memories through experiences.

I often think about my time at @emwbookstore and @bodega and about space making and how @adobofishsauce and poetry spaces has fundamentally shaped the ways I move.

a dream known previously by a funnier name that then began to be shaped by the dear @itstariknow to a weekend pop-up at @shopsoulita to now a lil residency at @tradepvd this summer - I’m humbled to be sharing this iteration with y’all. still figuring it out, imperfectly. so if you’re around come by Folding Chair — to any of the many things we’re doing 🫶 will be posting more details and dates.

Highlights from our first “Paper and Ink: Material as Metaphor” workshop at Penumbra Foundation a couple weeks ago.

We taught about the technical qualities of paper and printing, and how knowledge of those qualities can be used to create thoughtful and dynamic photo books. We brought along some books that we designed, some books that we produced, and, of course, some of our favorite books.

🇰🇭Khmer New Year was so wild this year, I think my ancestors are tired for me🐍

I drank Henny for the culture (even though it tastes like spicy NyQuil), ate steak and hotpot with my homies, and had the absolute honor of DJing @malisakuch & @guarionex_jr Raingsey book release & @bong.nyc after party at @moodringnyc where I turned the dance floor into a full-blown basement party. Khmer beats + crunk remixes = sweat and spiritual awakening. Shoutout to @keeyonscore my tech support, emotional support DJ, and DJ sensei and @junzie_j my hype man and now officially crowned the MC of all my future sets🔥

We came together at my home base @whiskandwhiskeybklyn to commemorate 50 years since the genocide and it was a powerful, moving, and grounding experience. Shout out to Bong @nikhom79 for organizing.

Ended the New Year at the temple where I finally got those damn chicken wings everyone always talks about. Ten out of ten, would miss the group pic for them again✨Shout out to @uglycrying for the photoshop artistry

My heart is full. My soul is recharged. My liver is… on sabbatical❤️‍🔥

Today we honor 50 years since the Cambodian Genocide. I am commemorating today by celebrating our joy and resilience💛🇰🇭

Come gather in community at @whiskandwhiskeybklyn at 7pm-9pm for an event hosted by @nikhom79 bring photos of your fam + ancestors to hang on our remembrance wall. We’ve got a traditional buong suong dance by @sammich_nyc , drink specials, and karaoke + dancing led by ya girl 🎤✨

Then slide with me to @moodringnyc for the Raingsey afterparty! We are celebrating the stunning new book by @malisakuch & @guarionex_jr that beautifully symbolizes the strength, beauty, and spirit of Cambodian youth and culture✨ The Khmer word “Raingsey” (រាំងសី) translates to “ray of light” or “sunbeam” in English

So hyped to DJ alongside my 🇰🇭 Cambodian Bruv @djhouseplants, plus @tinasnowle and @guarionex_jr 🔥

I’ll be unapologetically playing 90s throwbacks and RnB, all night alongside my sis @cambodionce @tinasnowle @guarionex_jr . 💚 Channeling my teenage self in Long Beach on the waterbed, hanging w my older girly cousins while they gossip and listen to Mariah Carey 💚

Raingsey meaning “Ray of light” in Khmer, is a publication that captures the spirit of Khmer youth through portraits and landscape by the talented @malisakuch & @guarionex_jr . Come through to ring in this New Year and celebrate the milestone for the community 💙❤️💙

After last years fundraising and the help of production through @smalleditionsnyc , @malisakuch and I are excited to announce the official release of our first self-published collaboration, Raingsey.

To celebrate this huge milestone we are doing the official release at BONG! @bong.nyc is opening up their first permanent space offering Cambodian food to New York City.

The collaboration between Raingsey and BONG will bring to the community an art installation at the new space with a chance to purchase a book, prints, special dishes and merch.

We will then continue our celebration at @moodringnyc with a line up of our favorite DJs. Setting the tone for the whole night we will be joined by @djhouseplants @cambodionce and @tinasnowle .

The unseen is what weaves us all together. The Lotus Pond belongs to us all, our collective dreams and hopes, prayers and manifestations. It’s proof that a self guided collective model can exist.

I’ll be clearing the pond tomorrow and transplanting the seedlings around the city 🤍

My sweet Mr. Barleyboo. You were more than we ever expected in a doggie. Almost 9 years of absolute silliness, unconditional love, patience, and tolerance of your humans’ antics.

Remember when Papa thought you were on your deathbed when we adopted you from @muttvillesf? You really proved us wrong! We camped, we climbed, we biked through Golden Gate Park, we went to doggie Disneyland aka Ft. Funston almost every weekend in SF, and explored up and down the coast. We always joked that because you were a Marin dog, you were only tolerating us poors in the city and dreamt of your old life. Well, I hope you’re up there thinking about all the times you ran away at the beach (only twice, separately with @hanburgler and @annapick!), laughing about the costumes Papa would make you wear, all the times we picked you up, and of course thinking about Sister. She thanks you for playing with her and teaching her how to “shazam”.

Despite all this, there was still so much more I wanted to do with you. I know it was time to say goodbye, but I’ll always wish I had just one more day to give you that extra kale stem, that extra cuddle, that question of “who told you to be so stinky?”.
