Portillo is a place for everyone. I’m not getting paid to say this! My family and I just absolutely love it there. There’s stuff to jump off of, tunnels to ski through, big lines to be skied, tons and tons of vert, straight lines to be had, some of the best views for lunch (and skiing!) in the world, crowds is not a word that can ever be used because they don’t exist, and dancing with live music after you put your kid down is at your fingertips every single night. Oh yes can’t forget that ski school and daycare exist here too that our kid is crazy about. Win Win for everyone. Feeling super fortunate to have been able to travel to Japan for the first part of February. I had a fantastic time coaching with the Superstars Japan camp and @mikedski @tatsuya_tayagaki (thanks to @steepskiing for the vision and the opportunity) and a group of the kindest, most awesome and fun shredders. We had incredible food (the best yogurt—from the happy cows of the Nigata prefecture!), great skiing, and so much fun. I stayed a few extra days to meet up with a few @thenorthface shredders and of course made new friends on powder days. I felt overwhelming Omotenashi; extra extra thanks to Tatsuya for being an amazing host, coach, ski partner, and for your patience and answers to all my questions about Japanese culture and society, blowing my little western mind. An extra thanks for the random guy who gave us politely-placed pushes on the scooch trail. 😆 Now I’m back home and hoping for snow. 📸: 1, 6, 11 @mikedski; 12 @tatsuya_tayagaki
