elsewhere • HOLZWEGE • curated by @boxlerer, on view during last week’s #galleryweekendberlin

In the philosophy of the German philosopher Martin Heidegger, the ‘Holzweg’ is not a mistake, but a path that leads into the open. Building on this image, the exhibition HOLZWEGE brings together ten artistic practices that do not follow a common programme, yet converge within a shared conceptual space.

The exhibition featured works by represented artists Tim Berresheim (@timberresheim) & Natalie Brehmer (@nataliebrehmer). Taking place during Gallery Weekend Berlin 2026 on Potsdamer Straße, it was an attempt to bring together three levels: perception, reality and art. How do we perceive reality? How does reality alter our perception and vice versa? And how do artists utilise the means of the present to process, reflect upon and express this reality?

with works by: Andreas Greiner / Anna Kuen / Hannah Sophie Dunkelberg /Jeewi Lee / Kevin Lüdicke / Lucas Buschfeld / Marta Vovk /
Natalie Brehmer / Patrick Alan Banfield / Tim Berresheim

Thank you to Marcus Boxler for curating this amazing show and to Mutter Agentur (@mutteragentur) for hosting.

NEARNESS
The AP•Art•ment @the_ap_art_ment_
in collaboration with Kali Gallery Lucerne @kaligallerylucerne
curated by Domenico de Chirico @domenico_de_chirico

What if art wasn’t something you visit…
but something you live with?

At The AP•Art•ment, a 1920s Milanese space reimagined into a living environment, contemporary art leaves the white cube behind and moves into intimacy.

Curated by Domenico de Chirico in collaboration with Kali Gallery Lucerne, the show transforms a house into a field of relations—between artwork and viewer, space and presence.

You don’t just look at the works.
You stay with them.
You share space with them.
You even have the chance to make them yours.

“NEARNESS” reduces distance.
It replaces observation with experience.

And maybe… it shifts what art can be for you.

One weekend full of art, unfolding across two cities. From Berlin to Bonn, two great openings. “Holzwege,” a group show curated by @boxlerer during @galleryweekendberlin and „interactions“ a group show @bundeskunsthalle Bonn.

Here’s a fine selection of photos from our opening in Berlin. It’s impossible to capture how much was going on that weekend.
Grateful for everyone involved!

An honour to show among this great artists: @andreas.greiner.berlin @jeewilee @hannahsophiedunkelberg @ann_kuen @martavovk_studio @timberresheim @kevin_luedicke @mimiklr @studiolucasbuschfeld and Patrick Alan Banfield

It was a blast @mutteragentur @carolindesireebecker ✨

Big hugs to @andreaegalerie 💕

The AP•Art•ment presents NEARNESS, an exhibition exploring proximity as both a spatial and relational condition.
In collaboration with @kaligallerylucerne and @domenico_de_chirico, the exhibition brings together a group of international artists invited to engage with the domestic framework of the home gallery where distance, both physical and symbolic, is compressed into immediacy.
The works unfold within a lived interior, resisting the neutrality of the white cube. Rather than asserting autonomy they become part of an existing fabric establishing precise relationships with the architecture and the everyday use of space.
NEARNESS develops as a field of proximities: between artwork and viewer, interior and representation, vision and presence. Experience is situated, contingent, and engaged.
Here critical distance is not constructed but reduced, held in tension. The work emerges within the space of relation.

Exhibition: April 15 – May 31, 2026. From 10 am to 7 pm
By appointment only: newstheapartment@gmail.com
Address: Via Lodovico Settala 45, Milan
