Well this was a show I was excited to do… Loads of new music and some exclusives recorded in the late 70’s and early 80’s that had never been aired previously. I only got around to playing one of them but what a tune it is…. Thanks to @Arthurbaker I was able to play a track that he produced way back when and one that he had very little knowledge of. He’d found it on an old real. He vaguely remembered the session at Unique Studios in NYC, knew the name of the act Sound Troupe but had no idea of who the singer was… But whoever it was can really, really sing… Heavy tinges of Luther Vandross over a killer electro boogie rhythm, this track is heavy on the boogie and the soul. It’s coming out on a very limited edition 12” at some point but God knows when. It was an honour to play it on the show… The other tracks that I was going to play were unreleased tracks from NorthEnd but I only ever play tracks when they fit neatly next to others so Im saving that for another show… Else where there was amazing new music from @fallenioke , @joeajkeys & @itsfootsieagain in a heavy dub wise fashion - which took me back to going round to Footsie’s Dad’s place in East Ham many years ago. There is quite a lot of dub wise leaning music here. Lots of @madprofessorariwa @ariwastudios tracks from some brilliant recent compilations on @test_pressing_official in particular. @peter_pipes sent me a brilliant track from Sheffield called - Broken Down - Speak 1 - and it’s ace. Sounding like something @coldcutofficial / @mattblackninja would have played and blown my mind with back in the day There are some killer new deep techy bits from @malwen__ and @michaeljcollinsmusic full of future soul and deepness, more rom @dahi Kendrick and Amber Mark - How To Pray is rapidly turning in to one of my tunes of the year and there is an amazing house cut from the legend that is @kalexishelby - an ode to his city Chicago that cuts up all manner of things and also a brilliant new song from @michaelkiwanuka It’s a unique journey and one that lots already seemed to have loved SWIPE TO KEEO READING ➡️➡️ Don’t forget to follow us so as to not miss a show and Im back on @mixcloud tomorrow where I’ll be

The recording of my latest stream for @esrlive has been up on archive for a bit (check bio for link) and you can see me do all kinds of media-untrained incoherent gesticulations - mostly appropriate - and playing some bangers from the recent promos folder in the USB - except from a couple of classics at the start to set the mood. Hit play and allow me to move your bones to some fresh stuffz🔥🔊🔉 #photonz #eastsideradio #lack

New remix ⛓️ Huw (@malwen__) and I first met in college up in rural North Wales circa 2011 when we were both 15. Feels quite mad to be remixing a track for someone I first met as a teenager from an area where this kind of music was basically non-existent growing up. Very proud to be part of Huw’s first vinyl release, which also happens to mark the first remix of mine to make it onto wax. Full circle moment! Deep, driving and dubby. Out soon! 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿
