Listen up: if you’re struggling with postpartum hair loss, or stress related hair loss, this one is for you.

Truth be told, I am fortunate enough to have thick hair at baseline but having gone through telogen effluvium THREE times now (once post hip surgery and twice postpartum), I can definitely see why my patients become concerned. It is unsettling to say the least to see clumps of hair on the floor everyday.

What I used this time around:
- Patience !! (this one is so freaking HARD, but I promise you, if it’s solely due to postpartum, it will come back in time) ⏱
- @nutrafol postpartum vitamin supplements 💊
- Minoxidil 5% foam 🧴
- One session of platelet rich plasma 💉

Rest assured, this is often self resolving, within 6-9 months after the hair initially started to fall out. This is key because it can be scary! Signs of hair regrowth include fringe hairs on the frontal/temporal scalp (baby bangs anyone?).

Consider seeing a dermatologist if it has been >6 months since the start of hair loss and there are no signs of growth to rule out any underlying causes such as iron deficiency, etc. Rogaine is an over the counter that can stimulate hair growth. Supplements should always be discussed with your physician.
