WINNING WAGAMAMA FIX 🍜

A couple of weeks back, the lovely @stockportvegan won a @vegalgang competition for a @wagamama_uk meetup here in Manchester. Steph very kindly took me as her plus one (aren’t I lucky).

Although I was a tad hungover from a wedding I had the loveliest time meeting some awesome new peeps (swipe for group pic), especially the ace @luisachristie. I also got to chill with Steph and @plantbasedpiggie - such huns. And we ate some delicious food of course.

I got:
🌱 vegan chick’n teriyaki buns
🍲 raisukaree tofu (yum curry and rice!)
🍠 we shared tokyo fries (a trial dish of shoestring sweet potato and aubergine, vegan mayo and caramalised onions)
🌱 shared lots of edamame

We also got a cute goodie bag to takeaway 🥰 thanks for a great night @luisachristie and @wagamama_uk!

@vegalgang is defs worth a follow - such an ace group of peeps!

Hands down the best Chinese in Manchester 👀✨

And no I don’t have to try ALL of them to know 🤷🏼‍♀️

Anyways this is @lotus.plantbased and it is fully vegan and stunning as they do things that I’ve never had at a vegan Chinese restaurant before! Mainly the dumpling which are stun 🥟

Anyways between four of us we shared:

Prawn dumplings (aka Har Gow)
Crispy chilli squid
Sesame toast
Sweet & sour chicken
Cantonese beef
Kung po chicken
Stir fried noodles
Fried rice
Broccoli & ginger

Oh and don’t you worry guys there’s more manc content to come 👀

You can customise your box, but ours included...
🌱 Salt and pepper mock chicken and duck
🌱 Salt and pepper chips
🌱 Salt and pepper tofu
🌱 Vermicelli noodles, ho fan noodles and rice, all in different sauces and with either mock meat or tofu added
🌱 Teriyaki tofu
🌱 Pots of curry and sweet chilli sauces
🌱 Loads of mini spring rolls

I pretty much love all the noodle dishes and love that they do vermicelli, udon and ho fan varieties. Also the salt and pepper mocks and tofus are always little crispy bites of perfection. A stand out was the teriyaki tofu, so crispy and covered in the stickiest teriyaki sauce 😙👌🏽

A box costs £25, and you'll need to call up and place your order for collection (or delivery if available and you're in their radius in North Stockport).

Had the best time at @theoverdramaticvegan and V's with @vegan_marge @groov3gan and @plantbasedpiggie 💖💚

@frost.burgers is a laid-back street food joint in Manchester that takes it's burgers to the next level with homemade sauces and carefully sourced plant-based meats and cheeses. The menu ticks all the comfort food boxes with beef-free and chicken-free burgers, curly fries, craft beers, and dairy-free shakes. Fun fact: Asian food of any kind will always be my number one option when going out for food 👀

Ok maybe second after a fully vegan restaurant but it’s ok cause @lotus.plantbased is both 😍

Anyways I will be back in Manchester this week and can’t wait as their food scene is unreal and so are the people 👀

I always love coming up as I leave with both my tummy and heart full (I’m so crying hehe) and if you don’t believe me just look at the way @plantbasedpiggie and I look at each other 🥰

Oh and please give me recommendations for good food places to visit this week that isn’t a chain I’ve been to 100 times 😂

Manchester v meet up at @society.mcr 🐝🌱

Such a good turn out for the first meet up! Thanks to everyone who came and it was lovely to catch up with you/meet some new vegans!

Obvs couldn’t go to Society and not get Gina’s incredible Katsu curry @manzokustreetfood she does a deal for £10 on a Sunday/at lunch time in the week for a crispy tofu Katsu curry & vegetable gyoza’s…it’s heaven just get it! There’s also vegan sushi 🍣 which is crispy tofu with avocado on top which is also really good!🌱

I’ll be organising these monthly. Anyone is welcome insta page or not just keep your eye out for my stories or drop me a message to be added to a Facebook Group. Until next time✌️

🍕 RUDY'S HAS A HOME IN CHORLTON 🍕 pr invite

south manchester babes, icymi @wearerudyspizza has a new home in the leafy suburbs of chorlton🏡

so I will say as a caveat that rudy's isn't the most vegan-friendly, but their pizza is one of the best I've had outside of italy 🇮🇹

🌱 vegan options

🪑 sit in, takeaway + outdoor seating

🍕 neapolitan pizza, drinks + sides

📍 I was invited to the chorlton branch but you can also try a slice in: ancoats (mcr), st. peter's street (mcr), sale (mcr), leeds, stockton heath, soho, liverpool + sheffield

at first look, there were no labelled vegan starters but I had been advised the veggie campagna could be made vegan by subbing the cheese for vegan cheese - this was actually a perfect starter to share between two and special shout out to the bread 🍞

the olives are not labelled vegan but assume they will be!

for pizza, I ordered the 'meridio' with added mushrooms and truffle oil because I am a fiend for 🍄 I've been a huge fan of rudy's pizzas since I went to their ancoats home in 2015 and as always this did not disappoint, the dough is perfect and I love a white pizza but maybe I'd get a pizza with less toppings next time haha (my fault)

other vegan pizzas are the marinara and I think you can customise a lot of the pizzas to be vegan since vegan cheese is available, but I would like to see more vegan pizzas on the menu too 🍕

I was informed the alioli was vegan so had this as a dip and it was vvv good so would recommend if you are a crust dipper like me

to drink, they didn't have any mocktails on the menu but I asked and they made me a non alcoholic aperol spritz which was lovely ☺️

for dessert, it was a sorbet affair which isn't something I would choose and I was sad because my boyfriend got to have a cannoli and I think it would great if they could add at least another vegan dessert option 🌱

overall, fab location and vibe and lovely staff too and I'll be back albeit hope they add some more vegan options/make things clearer on the menu too 😌

house fries with secret recipe cheez sauce, vg bacon, jalapeños and crispy onions

crispy chick'n nuggets 🍗

served with a dip; super crunchy and moreish

overall this food really hit the spot - I eat my fare share of burgers as the audio suggests but this was incredible and I'll def be ordering soon 👀

🎀 beautiful and very instagrammable interior 👀 just look at that green wall!

we ordered:

🍔 🍯 hunny chick'n burger which comes with a lil pot of house-made hunny (vegan ofc!) how cute 🥰 and sooo tasty

🍔 auburger - my sis had this and said it's a great alt if you're not fancying meat alts 💚

🥗 caesar salad - with succulent chick'n + the creamiest dressing 🤤

🧀 fauxzarella sticks - my fave side! get them they are 10/10 😙

🍗 crispy dippers - lovely seasoned coating + texture is on point

🍓 strawb shake - so good! I forgot to add cream tho so make sure you do 😅 (would also recommend the mango shake I've had before)

🍫 choc hazelnut shake - my sis had this and enjoyed 😋

everything was stunning and doesn't feel too heavy like other vegan burgers etc can be 🌱

ooh also the sauces are unreal and if you go into the manchester store today and buy a burger you will get a jar of their smoky bacon 🥓 mayo for free 👀

sooo who's heading down today then? looks like perfect shake weather!
