250 pounds of magazines arrived at my home today and @sabbstuh helped me carry them up the stairs. I am weeping! It is so much more beautiful than I could have imagined. I began this project more than a year ago and to hold it my hands for the first time is completely surreal. I am proud for so many reasons, but primarily because this was done with so many of my brilliant, talented, hilarious friends. To showcase their talent is big and beautiful gift, an immense responsibility I have taken very seriously. This project is entirely self funded and by all measures financially ruinous, psychically exhausting, and low key vain asf, but I had to do it. And now that I have, it feels like an entire new world has unlocked! I am so proud and so happy and so lucky. I cannot wait for you to see it. #earnest post yet again 🩷🌟😇🎈

Sammy Loren (@sjlorenn) is the founding editor of the art and literary conceptual tabloid @ontherag.vip and ringmaster impresario of @casualencountersz.

In the second half of our conversation for THOUGHT ROT’s “Minds Behind the Media” series, Sammy reflects on the rise and fall of LA’s literary scene and gives us a glimpse into his next venture in New York. We discuss the curious evolution of @ontherag.vip, what makes media compelling, and the value of chaos in art and life.

Looksminimizing competition 🏆

There just so happened to be looksmaxxers there at the same time and when I got there they were all doing push-ups in a circle… normal activities

Then the two events collided and the horde of confused little boys found their new god-king

Super special tiki bowl drink for three by @uh.doy at @rosesrandrbar with my favorite couple 🫶
