It’s been a few weeks since @futureiconsselects
It’s all gone by in a bit of a blur.
Lots of support, encouragement, interesting conversations and some brilliant neighbours to exhibit alongside.
Very grateful to everyone who came by, stopped for chats and spent time with the work.

Thanks for having me Louisa and Trevor xx @futureicons_ @adornthecommon

We are almost in flaming June, time for a garden party! Join @blue_patch at the most wonderful Georgian mansion in Dulwich to celebrate the opening of the Festival of Retrofit - brainchild of the brilliant organisation @seloncommenergy, hosted by beautiful @bellhousedulwich and pack with information, myth-busting retrofit and showing how a @chimneysheep can fix the chill factor, how you generate your own energy using solar, slash costs using an Air Source heat Pump, and store cheap or free energy using batteries. Check out the gardens - come and enjoy tea and cakes. Kids can help build a wall or Card City, there's a repair cafe and house and garden tours - all free.

Thanks to @southwarkcouncil @southwarkcommunityenergy @thenationallottery

Mandie, what a passionate soul, a furniture designer and maker based in the East End of London. Her enthusiasm for wood and love of process shape her approach to creating modern, versatile, crafted pieces with moments of elevation that are fantastic and intricately created. Inspired by the brickwork of London and the urban forests where nature’s graffiti is found. #londoncraft #londonbrick #craft #chairsofinsta

LCW Day 3, part 3. I ended up spending the afternoon at @futureiconsselects as I'd not managed to get round it all the night before, plus I'd run out of steam to go anywhere else. It was great to speak to all the @design_nationuk members and others who I know, plus meet lots of new makers as well.

Great to see and catch up with @carolinejackmanartist @fitzartsadvisory @isobel6663 @hannynewton @kpkinanglass @hannahheyscreates @hello.ditto @louisebell_ceramics @mattdiplomat @larapaintextiles @denisejaques.artist.mosaics

Plus great to meet @totterdown_potterdown @eleanornadimi @julianleedham @ceramakka @studiobriere @sanni_falkenberg @mandiebeuzeval @noawithah

Lots of great convos and the afternoon flew by before we made off in different directions at Old Street. A slightly less crazy day and a few more trains 🚂

People often tell me after I host an event that they’ve met such amazing people—and it got me thinking: why not create something that’s about people first, rather than just focus on the art? That’s where this new idea comes in.

We’ll be welcoming an array of industry experts and creative peers including photographic consultants, gallerists, curators, writers, creative mentors and Social Media Advisors, to create the opportunity to speak with people in the know, and share genuine insight into their own experiences in their respective fields.

The first one will be at @smithwollensky who’ve kindly given us the Adelphi Bar downstairs, plus a complimentary welcome drink. It’s happening on Tuesday 30th September, from 6–9pm. Tickets are just £5 to cover costs.

I’ll be asking people in advance what they’d like to get out of it, so I can help with specific introductions. But equally, if you’d prefer to just come along, soak up the atmosphere, and absorb the energy—that’s absolutely fine too.

It would be amazing to see you there. A link to the tickets is in our bio, and please do feel free to share (in fact, I’d really encourage it!).

Many Thanks,

Trev.

The @naturesavetrust offers a sustainability service to SMEs and they collaborated with Blue Patch to teach members of our community that were exhibiting at London Design fair, offering each member up to four hours of free consultancy.

The consultancy covered areas like climate and ecological literacy, creating an environmental policy, calculating carbon footprints, communicating with your suppliers and customers, ESG and carbon reduction plans.

Blue Patch is the UK's no. 1 sustainable business directory. We help sustainable makers with information and training on making carbon reductions in their business. For information about membership or community connect events, visit our website at www.bluepatch.org

The Great Dryer needs to find a home. This was the prototype made for me by Mandie Beuzeval in 2015. I am showing it in my upcoming solo show at #WoodfieldPavilion in the first two weeks of March. Does anyone want it after that? Ideally for some kind of monetary sum, but maybe not. Would need to be picked up on March 16th. @abelsloane1934 Can actually be used to dry clothes if your ceiling is high enough! :-)
