The long weekend is here! ☀️ To inspire you to get into the māra, we’re encouraging you to listen to the third episode of our Seeding Hope podcast with Distinguished Professor Linda Tuhiwai Smith (Ngāti Awa, Ngāti Porou, and Tūhourangi). Across 10 episodes, Dr Jessica Hutchings shares kōrero with a diverse group of Māori women leaders, including kai growers, environmental activists, deep thinkers, poets and healers. Through discussing why sharing, saving, storing and sowing seeds are vital practices that connect us back to the rhythms of Papatūānuku Mother Earth, each guest illuminates an alternative way - one that invites us to slow down and embrace tūpuna ancestral wisdom. In episode three, Linda discusses the power of: 🌱 Giving language to decolonisation. 🌱 Teaching our mokopuna how to enjoy eating our cultural landscapes. 🌱 Why this inspires them to protect te Taiao. 🌱 Embracing Indigeneity. 🌱 The mana that comes from food sovereignty. Decolonisation, Indigeneity and food sovereignty. Episode three on YouTube and Spotify now. In collaboration with @maearthstudio. #Indigeneity #FoodSovereignty #SeedingHope #PapawhakaritoritoTrust

From paddocks to packing beef, there’s never a dull moment around here 🤠🥩 Country music cranking, packing our own prime regen-farmed beef in our on-farm butchery, ready for the farm shop. Pretty cool getting to be involved in so many different parts of the operation! One minute you’re out shifting stock, the next you’re buried in paperwork, and then somehow it’s 10pm and you’re still in the butchery packing meat 😂 Kids tucked up in bed, hubby holding down the fort at home and me just jamming away to country music getting the job done 🤠 Definitely a bit of juggling involved, but I do love the variety of what I get to do. No two days are ever the same! #WomenInAg #NZFarming #FarmToFork #RegenerativeFarming #farmlife

You can care deeply about your business and still need space away from it. Space to breathe. To hear yourself think. To ask: “What do I want to create next?” “What really needs my attention?” “What can I let go?” This is @mangaroafarms, where we host four MOMENTUM retreats each year. A place to pause, reflect and plan alongside other business owners who understand how much of yourself goes into what you do. Our intention is simple: time to work on your business, connection with people who cheer you on, and room to consider what matters to you. Because the person behind the business deserves care and attention too. Could you see yourself here? Send us a DM. We’d love to tell you more about MOMENTUM. Your retreat hosts Rosenda & Tara

Say no to GMOs in Aotearoa! ☢︎ We’re delighted that the progress of the Gene Technology Bill through Parliament has been stalled with the Government putting it on ice until after the general election on 7 November 2026. That means we all have a window of opportunity right now to stand up for soil, seed, and the health of our local food systems. Let’s work together by sending a message to our local MPs that we oppose GMOs in Aotearoa. To make it easy for you to do this, we have created a simple form that will go directly to your local MP. All you have to do is click the #linkinbio to show your resistance today. Tihei mauri ora! #SayNoToGMOs #SeedingHope #IndigenousKnowledge #PapawhakaritoritoTrust

Something special happens when we take something as small as a seed, and nurture and care for it. 🫘 That’s the kōrero shared by Donna Kerridge (Ngāti Tahinga, Ngāti Mahuta) of @oraonlinenz during the first episode of our brand-new podcast Seeding Hope, hosted by Dr Jessica Hutchings (Tūhoe, Ngāi Tahu, Ngāti Huirapa, Gujarati). A respected rongoā practitioner, trainer and advisor, Donna shares her insights about what growing from kākano does for us, and explains why when growing something so small, it reconnects us with our kai, our relationship with Te Ao Tūroa and each other. Seeding Hope is an Aotearoa-produced podcast, made in collaboration with @maearthstudio. Across 10-episodes, it weaves together Indigenous knowledge with practical insights from a diverse group of Māori women leaders, including kai growers, environmental activists, deep thinkers, poets and healers. The purpose of the podcast is to inspire all people around the world to stand up for seed and soil by signing the Mana Wāhine Indigenous Women’s Declaration. Head to #linkinbio watch the first episode and sign the Declaration. We’ll be dropping a new episode every Monday. Like what you see and hear?
