Such an inspiring evening at the @many_hopes Fall Ball✨So many incredible speeches including by founder @thomaskeown and @ng100 - congrats on raising over $600k for your mission! ✨Many Hopes rescues children in Africa and Latin America from slavery, abuse, and abandonment — then educates and empowers them to become the adults who lead the fight for justice in their own communities. 💪🏽“Children who have survived an injustice can be the most powerful agents to defeat the injustice they survived.” Honored to support manyhopes.org 💛

One of the things that means the most to me about Glimpses has nothing to do with the words I wrote. Every penny I earn from the book goes toward helping children in need.

Two organizations especially close to my heart are Many Hopes, which works across six countries to rescue, educate, and empower children, and Hearts United with Haiti, a small but mighty organization helping provide education, nutrition, and community support in Haiti.

I’ve been blessed beyond anything I could have imagined in this life. Being able to let these stories do a little good for someone else is one of the greatest gifts of sharing them.

Thank you to everyone who has purchased a copy. You’re part of that good, too.

530 - “But God”

Looking back on her life, Dr. Annie Alaniz shares how she can see the redemptive hand of God woven through every chapter - from growing up in poverty in Malawi, to becoming a doctor, and eventually returning to serve the community she came from. What began as a dream to change her own circumstances became a calling to bring health, education and hope to others. Sometimes, when we look back, we begin to see that God was preparing us all along for such a time as this.

Originally from Malawi, Dr. Anne Alaniz is a Gynecological Oncologist in Texas. She is a co-founder of the @many_hopes (Pothawira) which has a home for 124 orphaned children, a primary school for 400, and a medical clinic that treats over 30,000 patients a year. Dr Annie is based in Houston where she lives with her husband Tony and their three children.

If you would like to support the ongoing work of Dr. Annie in Malawi, you can do so by following the giving link in our bio.

Day 5 - The Summit. Wake up to darkness. Dress for the coldest ski day you’ve ever had. Hike by headlamp and the now-familiar melodies of the mountain men. Pause on a rock. Drink whatever water hasn’t frozen yet. Don’t close your eyes. One foot, then the other. Beg the sun to come up faster. Jambo. Pole pole. Stella Point. Almost there.

Exhaustion and exhilaration with every step.
