You may have seen recently that several major chocolate brands (Cadbury, Lindt, Nestle, Kinder, Mars, Hershey) are investing in lab grown cacao 😬

Time to ditch those brands and purchase these ones instead 😀👇🏼

These 5 brands are my favourite chocolates and are all ethical, certified organic and use wholefoods in their ingredients. Definitely worth supporting the brands doing the right thing, plus they taste so much better 😉

We welcomed a new little family member not that long ago, and when I got the message, my first thought was: what can I make her?

I ended up putting this little basket together,

A big batch of Avoglemono, fresh lemons and dill from the garden to top, fresh baked banana bread (her favourite), a sweet treat (that’s caffeine free) @maplemoon_carob and a hand knitted beanie!

Food (and hand crafts apparently) is my love language, and after three babies and two postpartums, I still think it’s one of the greatest gifts you can give a new mum and family.

Because it’s more than just nutrition.

It’s a little more time to bond with their baby and partner.
Time to rest.
Time to shower.
Time to just be — hopefully in bed or on the couch.

It’s one less thing to think about.

A little more calm for the nervous system.

And, perhaps most importantly, it’s something that reminds a new mum that she is loved and cared for too, while she is giving so much of herself to caring for her new baby.

Because sometimes, amongst all the excitement and chaos of a new baby, mum can feel (and be) a little forgotten.

So if someone you love has just had a baby, make them some food.

It’s just the best. 🌷

🔸Healthy snacks for toddlers Part 1 🔸
It is possible to feed your toddler healthy snacks they enjoy without any nasties or seed oils. There are so many great options out there now. Here are some of my son’s favourite ones:

✨ @sunseekersnacks organic potato chips
✨ @thewholefoodkitchen.au organic crackers
✨ Organic strawberries
✨ @maplemoon_carob carob bars
✨ Any fresh or frozen fruit that your child enjoys

These are all great for travel and on the go too 😀

My go-to healthy snacks lately 🥩🍫🍊 A mix of easy protein, salty + crunchy snacks and a few sweet treats that make eating well feel enjoyable, not restrictive.

1. Remedy Sodaly — my alcohol-free swap. So good over ice with lemon or lime 🍊
2. Barbell Meat Stick Bites — easy protein on the go + perfect for travelling
3. Carob Bar — my caffeine-free chocolate alternative 🍫
4. Pork Crackle — perfect when I want something salty + crunchy
5. Beef Protein — a dairy-free alternative to whey and I promise, it doesn’t taste like beef 😂
6. Chief Collagen Bars — my go-to when I feel like a sweet treat
7. Barbell Air Dried Steak — obsessed with these + I rotate between all the flavours
8. Tuna — simple, easy + protein-packed
9. Sodii Electrolytes — I’ve started making these into ice blocks now that the weather is warming up ☀️
10. Prime Protein by Equip — another beef protein isolate I love for an easy protein hit

Remedy Sodaly
My alcohol-free swap 🍊 I love pouring this over ice with fresh lemon or lime when I want something that feels a little more like a cocktail. Blood Orange is my favourite.

Barbell Meat Stick Bites
A staple in my snack rotation. High-protein, savoury and SO easy to throw in my bag, especially when I’m travelling or out for the day.

Carob Bar
My chocolate alternative 🍫 Carob is naturally caffeine-free, which is one of the reasons I love it. Not necessarily low-carb, just a delicious little sweet treat.

Pork Crackle
For when I want that salty, crunchy, chip-like moment. Simple, satisfying and scratches the crunch itch.

One Winner Beef Protein
One of my everyday staples. It’s made with hydrolysed beef protein isolate but, I promise, it does not taste like beef 😂 I personally love beef protein because it gives me a dairy-free alternative to whey.

Chief Collagen Bar
Basically my sweet-treat option. Choc Peanut Butter is my favourite, but they have heaps of flavours. Perfect when I feel like something sweet after a meal.

Barbell Air Dried Steak
OBSESSED. I rotate between Classic, Sea Salt and Chilli dependin

It’s not that I think every mother needs to avoid caffeine.

But for me, I’ve found that if I use caffeine to prop myself up throughout the day, I actually find it harder to know where my true energy levels are sitting, and respond accordingly.

I’ll feel like I have more capacity than I really do, keep pushing through, and then inevitably fall in a heap when the caffeine finally wears off.

And usually that’s right around witching hour… dinner, bath, bed 🫠

So I’ve been trying to listen to my energy a little more, lean in to rest, and stop trying to override the tired and get more done.

And honestly i think it’s my secret to how I’ve avoided burn out - even in the twin newborn sleep trenches and with 3 under 2.

And because my toddlers absolutely love having a hot drink, it’s been really nice having something we can all have together. They’re obsessed with this one.

I particularly love the Maple Moon carob for this because the ingredients are so simple — it’s naturally sweet and sugar-free, and there’s genuinely no need to add anything to it. @maplemooncarob

A very small ritual, but one I’m really enjoying at the moment. 🤎

This is my little “I want dessert but I also have fitness goals” solution 😂 I call this UPSIDE DOWN cheesecake 🍰 Creamy berry protein yoghurt + juicy blueberries + crunchy biscuit crumbs and yummy toppings situation… somehow it gives cheesecake energy without actually making a cheesecake.
