POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED
A year ago, I was sharing a lot more of the difficult parts of my life.
I was going through a really hard time. I didn’t have nearly as many followers as I do now, and there were days when sadness and negative thoughts completely took over.
Sometimes I would disappear and stop posting for more than a week. My apartment was always a mess, and honestly, my mind felt the same way.
But I didn’t stop.
Back then, I kept telling myself, ā€œI can do this,ā€ even though I don’t think I fully believed it yet. Still, I kept saying it. I kept making videos.
Little by little, I stopped disappearing for a week at a time. When I felt sad or overwhelmed, I learned how to get back on my feet a little faster. I started believing in myself more.
Then small things started happening.
More people started following me. I got my first brand deal. And I remember thinking, this is only the beginning. Just keep going.
Today feels like another beginning.
I haven’t achieved some huge level of success yet, and honestly, my everyday life hasn’t changed much. But one thing I know for sure is that my mindset has changed.
I keep my home clean now. I genuinely enjoy making videos every day. After 35 years, I finally feel like I found something I truly love doing.
For most of my life, I thought I wasn’t particularly good at anything, and that feeling always bothered me.
Now I’m doing something I love, enjoying the process, and slowly seeing results from it.
I’m going to keep working hard.
And to everyone who has supported me for the past year and a half, thank you. Your comments, messages, and encouragement have helped me more than you probably realize.
It’s also strangely emotional that tomorrow marks one year since we lost Chobar.
Time moves so fast. So much can change in one year.
I’d like to think Chobar would be proud of me.
And yesterday, I got to attend the premiere of #ByAnyMeansMovie. Thank you @byanymeansmovie, @paramountpics , and @marcellacpr for the invite.
Another small reminder that sometimes life can take you somewhere you never expected.
#ByAnyMeans is in theaters September 4.
