When Marci Zaroff set out to bring sustainability into fashion, she says almost everyone told her it would never work. People who loved fashion supposedly didn't care about the environment, and people who cared about the environment supposedly didn't care about fashion. Marci saw herself in both worlds and believed she couldn't be the only one. That conviction led her to coin the term "ECOfashion" in 1995, with a simple mission: "I'm gonna style the world of change, and I'm gonna change the world of style." On A Regenerative Life, Marci joins Scott Stoll, MD, to share how she set out to bring together what many saw as "the material world versus the spiritual world," and why she believes many people are on that same journey. Most of us have learned to ask where our food comes from. What happens when we ask the same questions about our clothes? In the newest episode of A Regenerative Life, Scott Stoll, MD, talks with sustainable fashion pioneer Marci Zaroff, founder and CEO of ECOfashion Corp. They look at how food and fashion grow from the same agricultural system. Cotton, flax, and hemp begin in the soil, while some materials come from a chemically driven plastic system. Dr. Stoll brings the questions he has long asked about food to the clothes we wear. Where did it come from? How was it grown and how was the soil managed? Who produced it, and what did it cost the ecosystem? Watch or listen to the full episode to hear Marci's perspective. What does it actually take to move regenerative agriculture forward? A journey. The Regenerative Organic Alliance’s new Journey to ROC™ pilot is designed to give farms a structured, step-by-step pathway toward Regenerative Organic Certified®. For Marci Zaroff, founder and CEO of ECOfashion Corp. and one of the brands participating in the 2026 cohort, that journey starts with partnership. As she puts it: “This is not something a brand can do at arm’s length, and it is not something most brands can afford to do alone.” Building a more regenerative system requires more than good intentions. It requires investment, relationships and a willingness to meet farmers where they are, then help create a path forward. At BeyondBrands, we’re proud to see leaders like Marci helping turn ambitious sustainability goals into action 🌱 #BeyondBrands #RegenerativeAgriculture #RegenerativeOrganic #SustainableBusiness #PurposeDrivenBrands
