Man this took me a long time! I told myself 3 hours ago, I would be done in 1 hour...oops. I'm sure I'll get the hang of it eventually. In the meantime, I love these calendar pieces so much. They're a bright spot in our classroom. They get changed up each month and students love being responsible for coloring up our space! Comment Calendar below and I'll sent the link. Thank you!

Well, Hortlandia 2023 was a success. No surprise there. There aren’t many plant sales that aren’t successful, by this happy plant shopper’s standards. I did all of my customary pre-planning by clicking the links to all the vendors and coming up with a shopping list based on their respective nurseries’ plant inventories. Surprisingly, much of the selections I made didn’t make it to Hortlandia (I assure you, this did not present much of a hurdle, as I was an exceedingly resilient consumer). Per usual, I ran into a number of great people from my local IG gardener community. I know what some of you look like from your posts, but quickly learned that none of you really know what I look like (as one of you kindly pointed out 😁), as I tend to not post photos of myself in an effort to keep it about the plants. So, this post’s collection of photos includes one of me with my gardening group. Yes, we were all given custom-designed t-shirts a few years ago by @badtopher that read “I got dirt on you: The Full Monty Plant Society” in homage to one of our heroes, the gentle-voiced Monty Don. After some post-event cocktails, we have already come up with our 2023 slogan. More to come on that!

Who is going to Hortlandia today/tomorrow??? I’m going with my gardening group tonight (followed by the post-event plant purchase-sharing and cocktails). It’s a great way to have easy access to incredible plant nurseries from all over the PNW (check out the vendors here: https://www.hardyplantsociety.org/hortlandia ). Online tickets are no longer available, but tickets are still available at the door. Consider joining the Hardy Plant Society of Oregon. It’s inexpensive, it’s tax-deductible, and it gives you access to incredible member events, lectures and the Open Gardens series! I hope to see you there! #argaygardener

A Hortlandia tradition we have created is a post-show show-and-tell, where are all congregate at Bryce and Topher’s house and share all the plants we have purchased over brunch. I also like to provide photos of what mature versions of the plants will look like to our text thread group, because… why not?!? #argaygardener #hortlandia #hortlandia2022 #plantshopping #showandtell #hpso #gardeningbuddies #gardeningfriends #pnwgardeners #pnwgardening #gardeninginthepnw #gunnera

I'm up early, so what's a girl to do? A burn test! Trying out two wick sizes. While I'm at it, I'm loving the scent of my new Fir candle.

On the eve of Fall, Apple Cider was calling to me. It smells soooo good and lightly fills up the room.

Tadhg found a Geocache just hunting around a coast beach about 30 minutes outside of Dingle, Ireland. Pretty cool - made us think of Aunt Marie :-)
