NETT Championship Rounds 9 & 10 🏁

A really good weekend of racing at Duns in Scotland.

Round 9

In race one I had a problem getting the next gear off the start and dropped back to 8th, but managed to work my way back through to finish 3rd.

Race two was a much better race from the start. I got into a good rhythm, managed to get past @malachy513_mckenna and take the win. Malachy was riding really well and made me work for it.

Race three was another battle and I finished 2nd, giving me 2nd overall for the round.

Into Sunday for Round 10 and the starts were getting better. Three races and three wins. 🏆🏆🏆

Race one was wet and very slippery. I was chasing leonharrison6410 and made a move past to take the win. The track conditions made it a good challenge and it was great to get plenty of bike time in.

Also, congratulations to leonharrison6410 on winning the NETT Championship 👏

Three wins gave me 1st overall for Round 10. 🏆

A really enjoyable weekend of racing and a great track to ride.

Massive thanks to @nettquadchampionship for organising, and especially to Stuart and all his team for putting on another great weekend.

A massive thank you to @eddaviesracing for all their support and help with the setup of the quad throughout the weekend. It makes a big difference having their knowledge and experience behind me.

And thanks to all of my sponsors for your continued support:

The tiny hairs are located on the stalks, and the leaves. These stingers only have the hairs on the underside of the leaf, I’ve only come across this type.
I pick them from the top and fold it in on itself, to avoid being stung. When you squash the leaf a lot, it squashes the hairs so that it doesn’t sting you when eating it. Just make sure you really do squish the leaf enough! And make sure it isn’t the type of stinger that has the hairs on the top of the leaves.
They can also be blanched in cooking as a healthy addition to meals 😊
We are brought up fearing stinging nettles … they are our friends!
Lots of love, Melissa x

Lovely memories from our shoot for @philippavinecooking ‘s book SUMMER at Hope Gap, barbecueing fennel-brined chicken and courgettes from Philippa and @michaelvine.farmer ‘s garden. Shooting the whole My Seasonal Kitchen series was fun, but this day was our first proper location shoot, and took a fair bit of organising. Video by co-photographer @mariestone2213 and an extra pair of hands kindly provided by Philippa and Michael’s nephew Guy.

First book in the series SUMMER available now from myseasonslkitchen.co.uk#independentpublishing #myseasonalkitchen #local #seasonalrecipes #grownnotflown
