My friends are magic.
Their hands grow things
that once were ideas,
waiting to be tilled.
They direct thought and will,
pair it with love and intention,
creating Beauty, Art, Inspiration.
My friends are magic.
Real Deep. Uniquely Colorful. Devoted.
And I love them.
Strong ✨️💚✨️

If you're ever visiting Detroit during the summer months, be sure to plan a Saturday visit to Griffin Gardens @mylittlegreenspace and experience their weekly markets. It features local artists and their heartwork, culinary delights, hands-on crafting and other programming, and plenty of space to plop under a tree, meditate, breathe and simply BE.

I am excited to have witnessed Griffin Gardens's growth from one lot to five lots in a six-year span. Not to mention all its inspiring in my hometown!!!! Sis @marilynfgriffin I am constantly inspired by you and know that Griffin Gardens will be THEE spot to visit when folks come to the D! I guarantee it 😘 And if you're in the D, be sure to check out their end of summer party THIS weekend (see flier in reel)!

My friends are magic, y'all ✨️

Y’all! What a busy, but fun filled, exhausting but enriching, stressful yet full of growth 2026 season has been! So far this season we’ve had:
10 markets
40 vendors
12 workshops/activities
10 meditation classes
7 yoga classes
2 boxing for beginners classes
1 afro beat fitness class
18 3 x 30’ rows of flowers in the Flower Farm
5 Chapters in the Garden
Annual Art in the Garden art exhibition
Garden Tea Party
7 Flower U-Picks
2nd year doing a Flower Subscription
Interviewed by the Detroit Free Press

AND meeting so many amazing people like you this year or seeing you return to the garden. Thank you to every single person that participated in some way to Griffin Gardens this season. I appreciate you all so much from the bottom of my heart….

BUT the season isn’t quite over just yet because THIS Saturday, September 12th from 6-10 pm we are celebrating the season with our 6th annual “Almost End of Summer Garden Dance Party & Fundraiser”! This party is a way to gather at the garden and celebrate the season but also raise money for the garden. There will be a number of ways to support the garden: Donating money through the QR codes around the garden, buy merch and our latest tie dye tee( that I’m wearing), purchase drinks from the bar, or purchase a 2027 flower subscription. If you are not local but still want to support you can still buy merch or donate through our “support” tab.

And if you are unable to give we’d still love for you to come out and celebrate with us. It’s always a good time. Tunes will be played by myself, @djclevelandbrowne, and the homie DJ Francis coming from Brooklyn! Plus we’ll have food by @oscar_detroit_hotdogs and @ayitispaghetti . So excited and I can’t wait to see y’all.

Lastly, we are in need of 3-4 more volunteers for the party. You do NOT have to volunteer the entire time though. If interested please click the link in my bio to sign up and thank you in advance!

See y’all on the dance floor 💃🏽💃🏽

Super grateful to writer Scott Talley and photographer David Rodriguez, from the Detroit Free Press for this beautiful and intentional piece about Summer Saturdays, the history of Griffin Gardens and the surrounding area, and my family. I believe this is a special place but like everyone that visits says it’s a hidden gem, I hope that more and more people find out about Griffin Gardens because it truly is a special place filled with special people. Our next Summer Saturdays is tomorrow, Saturday, August 8th from 9-2pm. Hope to see y’all! Check out the full article online and it goes to print on Sunday 😊

On Aug 5th this time last year you made me a mom. You are everything I dreamed and prayed for. I love you forever and beyond Edison and I am so blessed to be your mom. Just like that you are 1 yr old time flew, know that you are loved by so many. Thank you to everyone that came out to celebrate Edison’s big day and those that could not make it but still sent their love to Edison. It takes a village and Edison truly has one. Special shoutout out to Sharleta for coming thru always with the decorations for our events and Good Cookies for the delicious chocolate chip cookies. Thank you to everyone ( Lisa, T Champ, T Greer, and Marilyn) that came in and just started either prepping the food, placing the food out, cleaning up and putting away the food as well as breaking down everything after the party. We just can’t thank you enough we love yall 💖

Trying to sum up last weekend in 10 pix is hard as hell! I mean the house was gorgeous, the tablescape was top tier (s/o @the.bloomingaesthetics), I don’t even like salads, but that salad by @hilscookingcatering 👌🏾, and the natural scenery was breathtaking. However, the people who genuinely want to celebrate me, made this one of the most special moments in my life and outshined every other aspect of the weekend. To be loved like THIS is indescribable. Cheers to the people who helped me become JaE Ashay. I’m 93% perfect because of y’all 🥰♥️♥️ #Happy40thToMe #J-40 #LoveInAbundance
