Managed to do four more lessons from the #artsoulgathering2022 🥳.

✨The first one is still in process as it is done with cold wax and oil paint. The lesson for this portrait was made by @marinatvb_art . Love the combination of gold and radiant turquoise 😍.

✨The second one with the topic of graphite and gold is based on a lesson of @idaandersenlang with a wonderful sketching process at the beginning - really loved that 💙.

✨ The third one is a portrait of a Dryad, the spirit of the forest 🌳. Learned a lot about these mystical beings and the painting process by @fleur.de.lys.art . Love the loose style but it was a real challenge for me to get into the water colour process 🙈.

✨The last one is done in oil pastels (never really used them before). Also added a little bit glitter stuff ✨ in the end. The topic was "If I were a fairy" and the lesson was from @katrinakoltes . I used a funny photo of me at the beach on the Orkney islands last year after my very first ice cold swim in lovely November sea water - I definitely would be a water fairy 🤩🧜‍♀️.

You died today ... my heart shattered

I saw a Mourning Dove, and felt your presence

You told me once your favorite color was green

'Where do angels
fly in the firmament,
and how many can dance
on the head of a pin?

Well, I don’t care
about that pin dance,
what I know is that
they rest, sometimes,
in the tops of the trees

and you can see them,
or almost see them,
or, anyway, think: what a
wonderful idea.

I have lost as you and
others have possibly lost a
beloved one,
and wonder, where are they now?

The trees, anyway, are
miraculous, full of
angels (ideas); even
empty they are a
good place to look, to put
the heart at rest—all those
leaves breathing the air, so

peaceful and diligent, and certainly
ready to be
the resting place of
strange, winged creatures
that we, in this world, have loved.'

Took @marinatvb_art class, Beyond the Layers. What an eye opener! I am still fairly new to cold wax+oils, but just tired of constantly painting abstracts. I paint and draw lots of portraits and wanted instruction to do them in cold wax. I got it from Marina! First photo was from the class, and second was my first try at a bit more realistic one. Her proportions are all off, but I loved the learning and the process, and really…I love her in spite of her flaws! Thank you Marina!!!.

My first venture into texture play with cold wax.It was messy but fun and I think this technique will be worth further exploration.

Wanted to mix things up. It’s been awhile since I did a still life. This was a time to experiment with stencil, cold wax and oil. Fun distressing the panel, to changing the table from square to round one. The Protea flower represents a multitude of meanings such as diversity, change, transformation, resilience and courage. Meet
