Highlights from today’s Cyanotype Toning workshop at MarinMOCA.

Green tea, madder root, black tea, botanicals, and a bleach bath for the highlights — watching that familiar blue turn warm browns and deep greens never gets old. Everyone went home with a stack of finished prints.

Thanks to everyone who spent the afternoon at @marinmoca with me.

If you could tone a cyanotype any color, what would you pick?

Your cyanotypes don’t have to stay blue.

This Sunday, Oct 18, I’m teaching Cyanotype Toning: Beyond the Blue at MarinMOCA in San Rafael, 1:30–4:30pm. We’ll tone prints with green tea and madder root, plus bleaching techniques to pull detail out of the highlights — and you’ll leave with 3–5 finished prints. No prior cyanotype experience needed.

Spots are limited — link in bio to register.
