A lot of California driving laws are easy to overlook... until you're pulled over or something goes wrong.

From window tint and license plates to California's expanded “Slow Down, Move Over” law, knowing the rules is part of keeping yourself and others safe on the road.

Which California driving law has surprised you?

Hispanic Heritage Month is personal for me.

I’m proud of my Mexican heritage and the family history and values that have shaped who I am, both personally and professionally.

My parents met in Mexico, and growing up with both Mexican and Jewish roots gave me an appreciation for different cultures, traditions and communities. It also shaped something I carry into my work every day: people deserve to feel heard, understood and represented.

At Bloom Injury Law, I’m proud to serve clients throughout El Segundo, the South Bay and Greater Los Angeles, including our Spanish-speaking community.

This month, I’m celebrating the generations of Latino families, business owners, leaders and neighbors who have helped make Los Angeles what it is today, and I’m proud to be part of that story.

¡Feliz Mes de la Herencia Hispana!

*Drake Day*
This year for Drake day we decided to have some fun on the pickleball court, and man was it a good time!!! Cali Smash was such a cool place and we want to thank my friend Mark Bloom and his entire staff for hosting us, and helping us have an amazing time together. I had never played pickleball before, and now I can’t wait to go back and take some lessons! We had great drinks and delicious food. Drake loved playing tennis, we know he would have really enjoyed pickleball!

We miss you every day, buddy ❤️

✨ As we welcome Rosh Hashanah and the High Holidays, we are reminded of the power of renewal—and of our responsibility to care for one another and our community.
The words of Isaiah feel especially meaningful during this season:
“Share your food with the hungry and provide the poor wanderer with shelter; when you see the naked, clothe them, and do not turn away from your own flesh and blood.”
— Isaiah 58:7
May the new year inspire us not only to hope for a better world, but to help build one—with compassion, generosity, service, and action.
Wishing you and your loved ones a meaningful High Holiday season and a happy, healthy, and sweet New Year. 🍎🍯

Happy Labor Day from Bloom Injury Law.

Labor Day is more than a long weekend.

It began in 1882, when American workers marched for better working conditions, fair treatment, reasonable hours, and a stronger voice in the workplace.

Those efforts helped shape the protections many workers benefit from today.

This Labor Day, we honor the people who built this country, the people who keep it running, and the principle that hard work deserves dignity and respect.

Baja trip with @natsoffthegrid.

Eco-tourism, Long drive, remote bay, three days on the ocean.

We observed blue-footed boobies hangin' out on a small island, snorkeled with sea lions, watched a blue whale surface, and later, a fin whale as well. Of course, the stars of our trip, the gentle giants... the whale sharks! Such magnificent creatures!

As always, we respect our sea creatures. Only observing, never impeding or trying to touch.

We had the most delicious ceviche each day on the boat. Our dinners were spent at local restaurants reliving our day over cold beers and cocktails. Our small group became family as we shared these awesome experiences.

“I am feeling wonder and awe about this incredible world we live in. And the truth is, we’re destroying it before we’ve even finished learning about it.” - Jane Goodall

Bucket list trip, for sure.

Happy International Whale Shark day! Sharing a little bit from my magical trip to Baja to swim with the worlds largest fish 🐳.
We set off from Bahia de Los Angeles in Baja. Getting there is a long journey that takes about 9 hours from San Diego but it’s well worth the warm van ride through the desert.
For three days we set out by boat for full days on the water, spotting whales, dolphins and sea lions and getting to swim with these gentle giants every day.

The whale sharks are mostly younger male whale sharks - that come to the warm sea of Cortez to feed.

I went out with @natsoffthegrid and could not recommend her enough for her commitment to small group, ethical encounters. No more than 4 people at a time are allowed in the water with a whale so you really get an almost private experience.

While in Baja and under the fool moon I also introduced our soon to be baby boy to the sea, to the whales and to a future life full of adventures.

More to share from this adventure - coming soon to YouTube.

7 days exploring the Tongass National Forest in Alaska with the @theboatcompany. Perfect weather, beautiful landscapes, seals, whales, bears and eagles 🦅

The Boat Company isn’t the normal definition of a cruise company - they are a small ship fully non profit small ship experience that takes nature loving tourists along the coastline of one of America’s most important national forests. They have been around for 40+ years, reinvesting their profits right back into the conservation and protection of the Tongass and the wildlife of southeast Alaska.

During the week I fished, hiked, kayaked and learned even more about the importance of this place.

Right now the Trump administration is trying to rollback one of the landmark environmental policies that’s been protecting national forests. It’s called the roadless rule and its removal could open up this fragile ecosystem to logging, resource extraction and increased human presence. The Tongass is part of the largest temperate rainforest on earth and protecting it is imperative to the health of the world and the species in it.

Learn more about The Boat Company and the importance of the Tongass on their website.
