"It’s not so much about the size, but because of the meaning this catch holds for me, I consider it my fish of the year!
Its value comes from the context in which it happened: a river that gives you nothing for free, even less so at the end of the season; a wild environment that is tough to face.
Yet, when you finally hold these pearls in your hands—spotted between the acquatic plants—you feel as if you’ve been immersed in the past from hundreds of years ago.
A time when the pristine river, with its full flow back then, began to shape the evolution of these Mediterranean trouts.

Just like their marble trout cousins, they are a true miracle of resilience that we are lucky to still have in our country, and for which, in my opinion, far too little is still being done!

Thanks to my friend @trout_hunter_italy for the day spent together."

Almost invisible, as only the old ladies of the small stream can do, she was feeding on the surface, facing his rock🔥🎣

Such a long time far away from fly fishing.
I had other issues to prioritize.
February, with its slowness, reminds me the endless flow of the river and inspiration returns, silencing every other thought.
It’s time to face new challenges and new adventures, opening day is so close!!!
