What a lovely on day 6 Walk For Wellbeing 2026 yesterday company wise perfect !! definitely not the weather.

P.s my fundraising link is in my bio....

My day started so beautifully with @autistic_ian & Lou. With coffee & gifts of bananas & mars bars... a lovely catch up hug & a few tears as we don't get to see each other as often as we would like.
No long after joined by @seanwheeler1963 one of the founders of Walk For Wellbeing. We walked for a couple of ours, resting under a tree with a brew a couple of hours later in the persistent & relentless rain.
Where Sean headed back & I carried on the pathway.
Taking occasional shelter, no pics sadly as trying to keep phone safe & dry due to water ingress the day before & ruining two battery packs.
Arrived in Streatley & Goring at 17.38 relatively short very muddy, wet & windy walking day with 19.61 Miles walked.

Day 7 been walking solidly with only 63.68 MILES remaining until I reach Bath Spa in Somerset.

On Thursday 22 October, Mark Sargeant brings a luxurious celebration of British game season to The Victoria Oxshott.

Cep and truffle focaccia. Duck liver tortellini. Venison Wellington with port sauce. Nine indulgent courses showcasing the finest flavours of autumn, served by candlelight at our three-AA-Rosette pub.

Crisp tablecloths, seasonal ingredients and a specially curated drinks selection, with an optional wine flight to accompany the menu.

Then settle in by the outdoor log burner with our whisky and cigar menu. The perfect way to round off the evening.

"My Safe Harbour"

I often think of a lighthouse when I speak on behalf of @hospitalityaction

Beacon of light, that stands steadfast & secure.
Or a source of hope when all around us feels totally beyond our control, lifes crisis points can somewhat feel relentless, with the power & might of a storm
Never giving us time to breath & regain strenght, before the next wave takes you closer & closer to the edge.

But for me HA was that light that slowly guided me away from the jagged edge, gave me time to find my bearings & find my safe harbour.

The storm i face like so many others will never pass, my addiction to alcohol will never turn & leave just like the storm
It will always be relentless in its temptation to lure me back into the open water.

So in my sobriety I'm moored in my safe harbour, with bow & stern lines firmly in place with enough slack just to move as each day I face highs & lows learning just to take each day at a time.
Knowing how close I came that day & being thankful for today.

I'm in my happy place & for ever reminded of our powerful promise that simply says.

"We've Got You"

I hope you too find your safe harbour through our amazing charity at the heart of our Hospitality Family.
