In the 1990s, Mark McEvoy took portraits of punks, partiers and late-night lovers on the underground. His images show city life before smartphones – when people still had to rush to make the final train… @marktmcevoy @caferoyalbooks in @guardian 🙏🙌

📷 Mark McEvoy, <London Underground 1992–1995>

“Almost every school bans phones in school.” - Keir Starmer If only… Students in this video say the opposite: phones are everywhere - vibrating in pockets, checked in lessons, hidden in blazers. “Out of sight” is not out of mind. This is the daily reality in UK classrooms. And it’s failing our children. It’s time for real, enforceable, bell-to-bell restrictions that finally put children’s wellbeing before Big Tech’s grip. 🎥 Filmed by @marktmcevoy with students and teachers from The John Wallis Church of England Academy.
