Masks are required for this reading. Please bring one, but we will have some available.

The bookstore is wheelchair accessible (no steps into the store) and space can be reserved in advance. The bookstore’s bathroom is not great for accessibility, but they have arranged with a restaurant across the street for access as a back-up. Not Gay as in 🌈 Queer as in I still mask in public spaces😷✨🧚🏽‍♂️ HAPPY PRIDE!!! (I'm late but tbh when the gov is making self expression and self determination illegal, it's Pride year round idk what to tell you)

The combination Gem szn and pride and Juneteenth month had me surrounded by so many wonderful people doing v many delightful things. I read just over 100 books before June!! I got a gay haircut and my nose pierced pride weekend (not pictured yet)!! I made a set of press-ons(pictured)!! I wore so many good outfits I forgot to document!! I didn't go to as many Events as I wanted to but I did honor my body in all its ways, rested when I needed to, and said no to a lot of stuff that would have wrecked my system(that I might have tried to power through a year or two ago). Small things, but I am very proud regardless💖🙂‍↕️💖

(If you ever see me indoors without a mask on know that I'm doing at least 4 other things to mitigate my risk factors, or I'm holding my breath(to get a cute picture/drink) and I am bout to put my mask back on, but probably both things tbh🙂‍↕️)

Chaotic leg #1 of book tour done! This was the, before the book comes out leg, because my book comes out during fishing season and, those who know me know I will be fishing! So so grateful for everyone who came out to events so far & bought the book — particularly beaming about hyper-specific healthcare worker conversations, meeting internet friends irl, supporting other books like Homosexual Intifada & Again, Harder, & zines like Alien Abduction, having a crowd full of former play partners and lovers, meeting people I admire and whose work I’ve followed for many years, goofballing about Heated Rivalry with my beloveds, getting to know community art spaces and the work people are doing to cultivate artistic community, doing karaoke. Pics slightly out of chronological order, song choice is my song of the summer until proven otherwise (pls send contenders)

If you wanna support the book outside of buying it, two things you can do are: 1. request it for your local library!! 2. write a review (on goodreads / storygraph / instagram / wherever u talk about books)

I’m back to hanging out on my friend’s land with rural queers for the next few days, & then back home, where I’ll bask in summer’s abundance ✨

last few weeks were magical beyond words, yes my awp post begins with bears, a coastal alaskan brown bear and a california grizzly play fighting like me & my buds :)

so grateful for all the brilliant humans i got to meet & hear read, to catch up with and adore. i don’t have pix with so many, lost in your arms and words and eyes, catching up on life and fear and desire and writing and care, playing with children and dreaming of abolition, colliding at this serendipitous moment.

I didn’t take nearly enough pictures, but my first AWP was such a beautiful experience. I was able to table for Yellow Arrow Publishing and Sundress Publications. I was involved in my first panel. I gave 2 offsite readings (was supposed to be 3 but I wasn't feeling well enough for one). I got lots of information about graduate programs and lots of ideas on where to submit my **** *** ***********.

Most importantly, though, I was able to meet people I have been in literary and personal community with online and see friends I havent seen in a while. I was also able to see one of my professors from undergrad, Pauline Kaldas. If it wasn't for her, T.J. Anderson, and Jeri Suarez, I would have not graduated from Hollins or pursued writing to this level. To hear her say how proud she was of me and my lit career was EVERYTHING. So, so grateful she still remembers and made time for an old student.
