WHENEVER we enter Sedgewick Theater it feels like Home. GTown Baby!! 🙏🏾🫶🏿 And as Loves of the Arts it Feels so good to attend OPENING Night for the Season Opener. Adaptation of John Ford & Thomas Dekker -The Witch of Edmonton, ‘Witch’ (By Jen Silverman’s) has hit the Quintessence’s stage & it is a HIT!! Would ever make a deal with the Devil only for the Devil to take off to parts unknown? How much of your actions are your own?? Who are really the ‘Good People’? This Tragic-Comedy is filled with so many side-glance moments, big laughs, love that should or shouldn’t be & truth even about ourselves. 🫰🏿🫰🏿🫰🏿

This set is a Beauty. It’s were The Royals meet The OutCasts. 🫶🏿The Lighting, Sound & Costumes play their part in the Mashup of the two worlds. And Gorgeous direction from Maura Krause. This Cast is a Mix of EVERYTHING we never knew we wanted. Listen, Frank as The Devil(on a Break), Steven as Sir(seemingly a father to many), Trevor as Sir’s Son(& a Dancer), Adbul as Frank, the Poor who wants it ALL, Imani as Winnifred, the Poor that loses it ALL. And then we have Suli ,who plays The Outcast(Based on real- Elizabeth Sawyer). This Cast is STACKED & they deliver in every scene. 🔥🔥🔥

Celebrating an amazing production with this fantastic team feel our hearts with such Joy! Know all that it takes for every theater in Philly to put on show together in a time like now is no easy feet. And we know it can be even more challenging when you are not in what is consider the heart of the city. But we know better, where ever you are in #PHILLY , it IS the Heart. Come see this Wonderfully Wicked Show. Now-10/25!!

And so, the rebellion ends. ⚔️

Closing Rare Accidents: Henry IV parts 1 & 2 is bittersweet. Bringing this massive, epic story to life over two parts has been one of the most demanding and rewarding journeys of my life. To this incredible company and cast: thank you for being my brothers-in-arms. A production of this scale only breathes because of the collective heart of everyone involved—onstage and off. I couldn’t have asked for a better group of humans to “die” with night after night.

On a personal note, this wasn’t just another role. Getting to step into the boots of my own ancestor, Sir Henry “Hotspur” Percy, was a profound honor. I felt the weight of history in every scene, and I truly hope I did the Percy name proud. Oh, and we mustn’t forget about sweet Pistol 🤪

#WillieShakes really got Us Shook this Season in #Philly 🫰🏾🫰🏿🫰🏾🫰🏿🔥
First all the drama with Caesar at PTC & all passion in March for Romeo & Juliet at the Arden. LOVING IT!! But right now, you can get BOTH!! @quintessencephl has William Shakespeare's 'Henry IV part 1 and 2' or "Rare Accidents: The Escapades of Prince Hal and Falstaff" This was the most exciting ride we have been on in a long time. If you are a fan of Succession, come through.
The Set is simple, dope, moving(figuratively and literally) & just the right kind of drama. The way that #QTGPHL uses the ENTIRE Theater House pulls you into every story & one of the true definitions of Living Art. 🔥🔥🔥
This Cast is Gorgeous & so Talented!! Led by @tyler.isaiah.bey aka The Monologue Prince. You feel the pull of 2 worlds in every gesture & we love it. Bravo Shoutout to the Philly Faves in @phillips._brown @greerscott50 & @cpm_actor. What pleasure it is to watch them play together & be the legends they are.👏🏿👏🏿
Nothing like seeing fresh talent getting time to shine. You are in for a REAL treat with @honeycgarcia 🫶🏾🫶🏿🫶🏾 @sarahkmonster @kelechiudenkwo @sampottinger @danielchasemiller. They each light up the stage. It's hard to put in words how they truly bring these 500 year old words to life. Just Fantastic!! Director Alexander Burns reminded us, There is nothing new under the ☀️.
Thank you Alex, Carlos & Mara for taking such good care of US. Quintessence is a Gem in Germantown.🙏🏿 As we said & agreed, Alex, we wish there was a space like this growing up close to home.
This play is on stage right now until March 16th. #SupportPhillyTheater #11MostWantedDBG

Incredible evening with @chconservancy on four acres of eased property, designed by Frank Miles Day, in the heart of Philadelphia. Bleeding into the Wissahickon, hedged gardens, birch groves and sloping lawns are protected in perpetuity by the Chestnut Hill Conservancy, one of the only accredited urban land trusts. Conserving well over 100 acres and dozens of historic buildings in Northwest Philadelphia and the lower Wissahickon watershed, the Conservancy’s easements protect our waterways, support wildlife conservation, and maintain the incredible environs that make this corner of the world so special.
