DTP for @marlydesign

This is the last card of the autumn series with the stunning autumn curiosities kits. I used another one of my gelplateprints and collaged on top of it. The colours in these kits are fabulous and show what autumn is all about.

Hi everyone, here is my latest Design Team Project for @marlydesign

I just love this time of year-the autumn colours are so incredibly beautiful! Marlies stunning “Autumn Curiosities” collections completely captures the essence of the season. For this tri-fold folio, I combined elements from several gorgeous kits: Winter Birds, Mushrooms, Forest Finds and Natures Notes.

On each page and side of the folio, I built a heavily layered cluster centrepiece. They feature a beautiful mix of winter birds, wild mushrooms, autumn foliage, berries, snails and matching tags and tickets. I am so in love with all of these cozy, organic textures. 🧡🤎🐦‍⬛🐌🍂🍄🍄‍🟫

Today I want to share with you a beautifully eerie new journal page I’ve created for my next project for @marlydesign here is a look at the spooky anatomy of this spread.

The Base: A gorgeous rich damask background paper.
The Focal Point: A hauntingly beautiful spooky portrait.
The Curiosities: A detailed collection of forest finds, from wild mushrooms and seasonal foliage to colour coordinated creepy bugs and vintage poison bottles.

I created this entire page using elements from The Autumn Curiosities Natures Notes & Forest Finds Kits and The Halloween Ephemera Kit.

Another really simple card: I used some die cut leaves as a stencil and inked through and around them with distress ink (several reds and oranges). The specimen card was cut out and embossed to give it more texture, the frame around the card was cut from the same dark brown paper. All of this to showcase that little adorable leaf from the kit. Amazing how you can fall in love with such a tiny element.

Sto dimenticando qualcosa? Si accettano suggerimenti.

In the pages of time, October paints stories of evanescent shadows and disturbing teenagers, vintage whispers and secrets never revealed...
I'm getting organized for October 31st: I have candles, bats, and the perfect plot to scare the neighbors, dry leaves, old books, and a pinch of magic... Then gothic books and films, and a mountain of pumpkin and dark chocolate brownies. Am I forgetting something? Suggestions welcome.

DTP for @marlydesign

I had so much fun making this tag with the autumn curiosities kits! A couple of weeks ago I followed a series of tutorials of @catrains.artist making backgrounds. One of my favourites was applying texture paste through a stencil on some neutral tissue paper. For this tag I started with a neutral background and glued some parts of this tissue paper here and there. (You can see some details of it on the last couple of pictures)When it was dry I coloured the tag with some distress watercolour pencils. I added water with a brush to soften the colouring. The bird and the pineapples were also printed on tissuepaper (I tried fussycutting them but it was nearly impossible 🙈) and glued on with transparent gesso. Some labels and stitching and it was done. I can’t help but be a little proud of this one, I so love the background I created.

This mushroom was calling to me and it wanted to shine all alone, so it got all the deserved attention. Look what a beauty! I kept this card really simple: an embossed/inked base, a frame with vellum behind and very little decoration. Here’s where I fel in love with the distress color frayed burlap….

The mushroom is from the curiosities forest finds kit

For this autumn card I used one of the gelprints I made with a @tim_holtz embossing folder. Some beautiful elements of the autumn curiosities kits, grunge it up a bit and there it is. It’s nice to return to some basics, some simplicity and not overdoing the decorating. Sometimes less is more.
