Today God used the 6th and 7th @marshillorg youth in the coolest way.

Recently they initiated a project to raise funds by collecting and returning pop cans- the plan was to buy cans of food for families who need it. Cans for cans!

At the same time, Love Your Neighbor’s Simply Give Campaign with @meijerstores in Hudsonville was happening, where they match funds or even double match funds for our food pantry!

By partnering together, this youth group was able to have their $1,320 TRIPLED by Meijer, and all of it will go back to Love’s food pantry, and benefit local families in the Life Skills Program!

Here’s a peek at our morning, where we toured campus and saw:
🖥️ the computer ministry
🎒back to school projects
📦the warehouse
🦽medical loan ministry
♻️recycling ministry
🚲the bike shop
🚨24/7 emergency pantry
🛒resale shops
🥫food pantry

Then we got to go to Hudsonville @meijerstores and scan those Simply Give cards!

So grateful for this visual reminder that God provides, and that we can do more - together!

Ever wonder how a little extra love can make a big difference?

Become an Embrace Buddy and walk alongside one or two kids who just need a little extra support to thrive on Sunday mornings.

It’s ministry.
It’s relationships.
It’s a whole lot of joy.
And we need you because we are growing!!

Come be a part of building a community where every kid belongs.

What a joy our November Embrace Community Day has been with the help of you all. @h2hfeedkids joined us to talk about their weekend backpacks that go home with THOUSANDS of kids throughout West Michigan to soften the pains of food insecurity. Our breakfast bags are just one small part of the package the kids are sent home with each week. Also, can I just say… our Embrace community is the best. Make sure you watch the full video to see M’s SMILE .. and catch a glimpse of the number of boxes we filled! Hand2Hand brought 12 and quickly realized they needed to run out and get more. How fun is that??

Packing with @marshillorg! 💛

We’re so grateful for everyone who collected breakfast items for Hand2Hand, and for the incredible Embrace Ministry team who packed them into kits with so much joy.

At Hand2Hand, everyone has a place and the ability to make a difference. And this team absolutely did!

Some of our friends here at Embrace @marshillorg got together to make prayer beads to sell for donations at an upcoming Joy Market at church (along with this cutie little booklet leading you through how to use them). The money from these sales will go into Mars Hill’s “White Bucket” Fund, which is how we are able to say “yes” to people in our community who need financial help.
We’ve been talking a lot lately about using our time and talents to be a blessing to others. What is something you can do? Even if it seems small, I bet it will have ripples you can’t even imagine.

A huge @new.city.neighbors SHOUT OUT goes to the dedicated (and fun!) volunteers from @marshillorg for supporting us with the not so glamorous task of cleaning out years worth of weeds, farm waste, and invasive shrubs. With just 9 people, and 2.5 hours, they assisted us in a task we just couldn’t (and really didn’t want to) tackle ourselves!

Thank you for spending your Tuesday morning with us and definitely check out those before and after for true transformation around our greenhouse!

6 years ago today our family became Michiganders.

We came after being reassured that God would be with us if we’d stayed in Illinois, and with us if we decided to move. We came knowing three people — and those three, not very well.

We came for one particular purpose - and ended up staying for another one completely. We stayed because we felt more life was ahead for us here.

And y’all. What a life it’s been.

I think of how our babies have grown up here, and how our friendships have, too. I think of how person after person, family after family, welcomed us and loved us and swept us up into their lives and communities.

I think of how God’s expanded my love for creation here, for all four seasons: the joy of summer, the coziness of fall, the introspection of winter, and the hope of spring.

I think of how God took our fear and our hesitation and our trust — and did immeasurably more than we could’ve asked for or imagined.

And here’s the deal. The God of our 2019 is the same God of 2025. He’s the One that can take your willingness and your crazy, stupidly hopeful trust — and bring new wine from seemingly dried up vineyards.

What I know from our move is that God doesn’t mess up. People do — not Jehovah Jireh. Seasons of our lives begin and end. But not the Alpha and Omega. Plans change. But not the Ancient of Days.

So whatever lies ahead of you:

a decision
a new season
the unknown
a thicket of questions
uncertainty about tomorrow
incredulity at the state of our humanity

WHATEVER lies ahead.

God is with you if you stay right there, and with you if you go.

Michigan, thank you.

Thank you for being our “home.” 🏡

The Rise Rally was all about education and career connection for young mamas and their kiddos.

Mamas signed up for their GED, enrolled in college, and connected with workforce development programs.

But that is not all.

We had NINE amazing community partners on site to connect with families, and thanks to the generosity of @marshillorg , we were able to distribute SEVENTY backpacks filled with school supplies.

Cheers to all the students and teachers as they step into this first week back to school!
