📚 🔎 🕰️ Mystery Recommendations – Historical Check out these great Historical Mystery reads. All of these mysteries have historical settings, from the distant past of the Victorian and Regency eras to before, during and post WWI and WWII and many other times in the past. They vary in where they take place: from England and Europe, all other the United States and India and beyond. Additionally, some are retellings of classics with a mysterious twists or features famous historical figures taking on the roles of sleuths. I've enjoyed all of these book and can only hope you'll find a new favorite read! Also includes BIPOC and 2SLGBTQIA+ recommendations. Even on a bachelorette trip, if I see a bookstore, you KNOW I have to go in… just to look, of course. And maybeeee leave with a book or three👀🫣 This past weekend, I was in the Hudson Valley, NY, celebrating my cousin’s bachelorette trip, and we spent some time walking around downtown New Paltz! Of course, I found a few goodies along the way!! 📚 First stop: Literally Books (@literallybooksnp) the cutest indie bookstore, where I picked up Tessa Bailey’s newest release, Broken Rival! The cover is STUNNING! 📖 Next stop: Inquiring Minds(@inquiringmindsnewpaltz), a new and used indie bookstore, where I found the first book in the series, To Have and to Hoax by Martha Waters. And of course, I had to add another Kristin Hannah book to my collection with On Mystic Lake! A little bachelorette fun, exploring a cute downtown, and finding new books to add to my ever-growing TBR? Sounds like a perfect weekend to me! 🩷💍 Be honest… are you like me and HAVE to stop at every bookstore you see, even when you’re supposed to be on a trip for something else?! 🪾Paranormal Romances🪾 I read Gold Dust Woman as an arc back in late July and I’ve been on a Paranormal romance kick ever since! In this order: Gold Dust Woman Grim Tidings You’ll be the Death of Me Spellstruck Haunted Ever After And I rated each one either a 4.5-5⭐️ read!! I don’t know what it is about this genre but it has completely taken over my brain! The mix of real romantic relationships mixed with a supernatural or fantasy element. Swipe to see the deets on these and a few other paranormal romances I’ve read in the past that I still think about! #ｑｏｔｄ Is their a genre you’ve been glued to lately? Got and good recs for me? What was your last 5 star read?

✨ 💕 🔎 Spellstruck – Martha Waters 📅 Publication: 09.29.26 📖 Read: 10.04.26 ⭐ 5/5 stars: This is Waters' Paranormal Historical Steamy Romance Mystery stand-alone set in 1920s England. Featuring a world where only vestiges magic still exist and the use of that magic's outlawed, leading families who have powers operate illegal speakeasies serving spell powders or enchanted cocktails to a public still hungry for magic. So when potions begin to go awry threatening everything, a speakeasy owner and her brother's onetime friend turned magic ban enforcer team up to find out who's responsible for the contaminated magic. With his promise of immunity for her family's club and despite finding her rather enticing regardless of his personal vendetta against the magical elite the two set off to stop the villain behind this scheme. But their investigation does little to quell their growing chemistry. As accidents continue and the fight to repeal the ban gains ground in Parliament, they'll have to decide – is the magic between them worth fighting for? With plenty of twists and turns, Waters has masterfully crafted a mystery that deftly balances the suspects, clues and red herrings and will leave you pondering the whodunit until the final reveal. Smart, witty and wry, Waters' writing and character work are stellar; the characters are well-rounded and complex while remaining incredibly likable with a secondary cast that are well crafted. The romance is lovely with plenty of flirty banter, swoony moments and a very steamy OPS scene. 📌 I received this eARC thanks to NetGalley and Atria Books in exchange for an honest review. Publishing dates are subject to change.
