I first came across him at Green Man Festival - where I saw him play drums with Meanz Heinz, the incredible krautrock supergroup that featured Cate Le Bon, H. Hawkline and Sweet Baboo. I later discovered his exploratory electronic albums, under his R. Seiliog alias - starting with Doppler and In Hz. There’s always been this amazing sense of momentum and space in his music, so ‘Another Way’ felt like the perfect track to give him. He’s really zoned in on the motorik pulse that was already lurking in there and taken it somewhere much deeper and trippier. I absolutely love what he’s done with it. I’ve got a few summer shows left… come and see us! Wed, 19 Aug @ Lost Map’s Howlin’ Fringe, Leith Cricket Club, EDINBURGH (w/ Martha Ffion) Fri, Aug 21 @ Green Man Festival, CRICKHOWELL Sat, Aug 29 @ Krankenhaus Festival, LAKE DISTRICT Wed, Oct 21 @ The Exchange, BRISTOL Thu, Oct 22 @ Chalk, BRIGHTON (supporting Sea Power) Sat, Oct 24 @ Boia Festival, ST DAVIDS Sat, Dec 5 @ Moth Club, LONDON 🎥 by @katecanaveral1

✨ Meticulously crafted indie pop delivered with wit, honesty and vulnerability ✨ @marthaffion is the much celebrated songwriting project of Irish singer songwriter Claire McKay (Former Champ, Friends of the Guinness) - crafting timeless, heartfelt guitar and piano pop, blending the melodic warmth of classic songwriters with a distinctly modern voice. Drawing comparisons to artists ranging from Dusty Springfield and Steely Dan to Aldous Harding and Rilo Kiley, while reflecting her own Irish roots and gift for intimate storytelling. Following a break from shows after her most recent album 𝘛𝘩𝘦 𝘞𝘳𝘪𝘯𝘨𝘦𝘳, Howlin' Fringe sees her first live appearance in Edinburgh for what feels like eons. Please don't miss this opportunity to see a very rare talent at work. 🎟️ howlinfling.com Wednesday 19th August @pictishtrail (full band) + @marthaffion Leith FAB Cricket Club Leith Links, Edinburgh Live music from 7pm - 10.30pm, then DJs til close. #edinburgh #edfringe #edfringe2026 #howlinfling

🫠 Immerse yourself in some world record breaking psych-pop 🫠 Our humble leader Pictish Trail returns to his favourite haunt of Leith Cricket Club with a well oiled full band in tow, fresh from touring the celebrated new record 𝘓𝘪𝘧𝘦 𝘚𝘭𝘪𝘮𝘦. Drawing equally from folk music, krautrock, electronic production and DIY pop, his songs shift effortlessly between the intimate and the expansive, the heartfelt and the absurd. Expect fun, sweat and maybe a little slime. Joining the line-up is perennial Lost Map fave Martha Ffion - the indie pop project of SAY award nominated Irish singer-songwriter Claire McKay (also known from Former Champ and much missed super-group Friends of the Guinness). Her acclaimed albums have drawn comparisons to artists ranging from Dusty Springfield and Steely Dan to Aldous Harding and Rilo Kiley. 🎟️ howlinfling.com Wednesday 19th August @pictishtrail (full band) + @marthaffion Leith FAB Cricket Club Leith Links, Edinburgh Live music from 7pm - 10.30pm, then DJs til close. #edinburgh #edfringe #edfringe2026 #howlinfling

The history of Howlin' Fringe 🤓 ✂️ ✂️ ✂️ Here's a little snippet from our @ehfm_live show on Monday, where we talked ALL things Howlin' Fringe. The name comes from a v. special event Lost Map put on 12 years ago, where each artist's performance came with one free haircut. ✅ 💇 💇 💇 Howlin' Fringe kicks off at Leith FAB Cricket Club in a couple of weeks time, with a sweet selection of acts lined up for us. Each night is themed around a different genre, with plenty of daft thrills and surprises in store too. One surprise we CAN tell you about is Good Vibes will be DJing the opening party on the 12th, serving up a hairy selection of Wednesday-night bangers. ⬇️ Here's the full line up ⬇️ ✨ 12 AUGUST (Slacker rock, manic post-punk & glam) SULKA & SUCKLE (co-headline) + THE CHOP ✨ 19 AUGUST (Psych-pop, melodic wonder & sick joy) PICTISH TRAIL + MARTHA FFION ✨ 26 AUGUST (electro-pop, hazy dub & twitchy electronics) FREE LOVE + EYES OF OTHERS More info @lostmaprecords x

We just added a little more sonic joy to your August. Supports now added to our Howlin' Fringe line-up, and it's shaping up to be *quite* the party. ✨ Sulka and Suckle were such a perfectly aligned alt rock line-up, we had to give them THE CHOP! The Glasgow art pop duo comprising of the unnervingly prolific Gemma Fleet & Andrew R Doig, who you may remember from all your favourite bands (Dancer, Nightshift, Order of the Toad, Robert Sotelo, and many many more). ✨ Lost Map mainstay and one of our favourite songwriters, MARTHA FFION peaks out from an extended quiet period with a rare solo set, opening for Pictish Trail. ✨ Complementing Free Love's euphoric dance energy is EYES OF OTHERS (Heavenly Records) - the free wheeling solo project of sonic adventurer John Bryden. Expect a knowing wit and a broad sonic palette that takes in carefree electronics, hypnotic dub, wry folk rock, twitchy psychedelia and buoyant acid techno. Daft thrills / sonic joy available from: 🎟️ howlinfling.com HOWLIN' FRINGE 2026 Wednesday 12th August @suckleband + @_sulka + @the_chop_music Collab with @playnicepresents Wednesday 19th August @pictishtrail (full band) + @marthaffion Wednesday 26th August @freelove_nrg + @eyesofothers_ Leith FAB Cricket Club Leith Links, Edinburgh Live music from 7pm - 10.30pm, then DJs til close. #edinburgh #edfringe #edfringe2026

This Saturday! Sounds in the Suburbs presents: @the.newleaves + @marthaffion Tickets via @ticketsscotland -- The New Leaves, the contemporary folk trio from County Down, Northern Ireland, return to Glasgow following their sold-out Celtic Connections performance in January. Renowned for their warm harmonies, evocative songwriting and beautifully crafted acoustic arrangements, the band have quickly established themselves as one of the most exciting emerging voices on the Irish and Scottish folk scene. The band will present a stripped-back acoustic set, showcasing material from their eagerly anticipated second album on Glasgow label Corn Crake Records. Audiences can also expect songs from their acclaimed debut album, A Sketch of Home, which reached No. 10 in the Scottish Albums Chart and earned praise for its intimate storytelling and rich sense of place. Drawing inspiration from the landscapes and traditions of their native County Down while bringing a fresh contemporary perspective to folk music, The New Leaves continue to win audiences wherever they perform. Support on the night comes from Martha Fiona, whose heartfelt songs and captivating live performances have made her a rising talent to watch.
