Restaurant Week is misleading usโ€ฆ ๐Ÿ‘€ Because Restaurant Week South Africa isnโ€™t actually just one week. Itโ€™s a whole month of discovering some of the countryโ€™s best restaurants at prices that make trying somewhere new a little easier. Think lavish high tea on a wine farm, Korean food sizzling over the fire, or South African favourites prepared by some seriously talented chefs. We mention R395 in the video, but hereโ€™s the even better part: some Restaurant Week menus actually start from less than that, with selected lunch menus starting from R195. And booking is surprisingly simple. Browse the participating restaurants and their menus on the Restaurant Week website, create a profile and book your table. If youโ€™re looking for new restaurants to try in Cape Town and around the Western Cape, this is a pretty good excuse to finally book some of those places youโ€™ve had saved. The only misleading part? Youโ€™ve got far longer than a week to do it. ๐Ÿ˜‚ Weโ€™ll be sharing some of the places weโ€™ve tried during Restaurant Week, so follow The Asia Africa Edit if you want to see where weโ€™ve been eating โ€” and which places weโ€™d go back to. #RestaurantWeek #RestaurantWeekSouthAfrica #CapeTownRestaurants #CapeTownFood #CapeTownFoodies

MARUโ€ฆ SEE YOU SOON! ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿ”ฅ Restaurant Week took us to MARU Korean Steakhouse and this one delivered! ๐Ÿธ Cocktails to start ๐Ÿฃ Gimbap โ€” 10/10 ๐Ÿ— Fried Chicken โ€” 10/10 ๐Ÿฅฉ Galbi โ€” 10/10 ๐Ÿฅฉ Rump โ€” 10/10 ๐Ÿฆ Vanilla Soft Serve โ€” 7/10 That Gimbap looked deceptively simple but packed SO much flavour โ€” the black truffle was everything. ๐Ÿคค And the chicken?! Building our own lettuce wraps with all those tart, spicy accompaniments made it even better. A little look back at Maru Korean Steakhouse ๐Ÿ‡ฐ๐Ÿ‡ท๐Ÿฅข I love Asian food, especially Korean food, so when I saw a new Korean restaurant on Bree Street, I knew I had to try it. I went for their Winter Set Menu, which was R349 per person for 3 courses. The menu is no longer available, but this is what we enjoyed: ๐Ÿ™ Truffle gimbap ๐Ÿ— Crispy Korean fried chicken ๐Ÿ”ฅ Korean BBQ meat feast with all the traditional accompaniments ๐Ÿฒ Spicy seafood stew with sticky rice ๐Ÿš ๐Ÿฆ Vanilla soft serve served with soy caramel soy sauce ๐ŸŽ‚ Plus, a special birthday dessert they made for me ๐Ÿฅน The Korean BBQ was definitely a highlight - the meat came with all the classic accompaniments, sauces and fresh sides to enjoy it Korean BBQ-style. The Winter Set Menu may be gone, but Maru has other set menus and dishes to explore, so definitely give Maru a try and add them to your list ๐Ÿ“. ๐Ÿ“ Maru Korean Steakhouse, Bree Street, Cape Town #AsianFoodCapeTown #RestaurantReview #BreeStreetRestaurants #KoreanBBQ #dinnerideas
