Top 50 in India. And the best is yet to come. When we launched Masala Library by Jiggs Kalra, we set out to redefine the boundaries of Indian gastronomy. It was a restaurant built on innovation, pushing the envelope and challenging conventions. A philosophy that remains deeply personal to me. Being ranked amongst India’s Top 50 Restaurants by The Times of India is a wonderful recognition of that journey. But carrying my father’s name is not just a privilege. It is a responsibility to constantly evolve, innovate and raise the bar. And that is precisely what comes next. Over the coming months, Masala Library Mumbai will undergo a complete reinvention, returning to the audacious spirit of innovation that made it one of India’s most pioneering restaurants when it first opened. To our incredible team and every guest who has believed in us, thank you. We have celebrated our legacy. Now it’s time to create our future. The best is yet to come. ❤️ #MasalaLibrary #JiggsKalra #MassiveRestaurants #IndianGastronomy

It began with Masala Library by Jiggs Kalra in Mumbai. Then came Farzi Café, which sold out its opening reservations within an hour. Made in Punjab brought North Indian food to the portfolio, and Pa Pa Ya proved the house could win beyond Indian cuisine. Bo Tai followed, then Younion, then Swan on its terrace overlooking the Qutub Minar. When Covid shut dining rooms, we built for the doorstep. Louis Burger now rules online across Delhi NCR, Mumbai, Bangalore, Hyderabad and Chennai, and Slyce Pizza delivers across Delhi NCR and Mumbai. Everything I know about building brands that travel, I learnt in that room. Zorawar, thank you for the standards, the pace and the belief. Now Massive is back in expansion mode, and I couldn’t be prouder to be part of what comes next. 📍 Franchise partners wanted, across India and around the world, for Farzi Café, Pa Pa Ya, Masala Library by Jiggs Kalra, Made in Punjab, Bo Tai, Louis Burger (now opening its first offline stores) and more from the house of Massive. If you’re an investor, operator or landlord looking to bring one of these brands to your city, reach out to Brand Beat LLP. We’ll walk you through brand fit, site selection, deal structure and launch. DM Brand Beat LLP, and we’ll take it from there. #massiverestaurants #franchiseeopportunity #investor #restaurantfranchisee #fnb @zkalra @kalradd @made.in.punjab @_botai @swandelhi @slycepizza.official

He built a restaurant empire. But he was once bankrupt. In the next episode of Table 1 with Vir Sanghvi, Zorawar Kalra opens up about building Massive Restaurants into one of India’s most influential hospitality groups, the brutal competition behind the business, and the lessons that shaped his journey as an entrepreneur. From being broke in his early years to living under the shadow of his father Jiggs Kalra’s legacy, Zorawar speaks candidly about the illusion of wealth in the restaurant business, the massive risks behind building Masala Library, and how television turned him into a household name. He also shares his perspective on the future of Indian food, the economics of fine dining, what to expect from his highly anticipated new venture, RaGa, with Gaggan Anand in New Delhi. This is the story of an entrepreneur who refused to take orders and chose to dance to the beat of his own drum. The full episode drops soon. Subscribe to our YouTube channel to be the first to watch. Is poaching chefs fair game? In the next episode of Table 1 with Vir Sanghvi, Vir sits down with restaurateur Zorawar Kalra, founder of Massive Restaurants, for a candid conversation about building one of India’s most influential restaurant groups. He opens up about recruiting Himanshu Saini and Saurabh Udinia from Indian Accent early in their careers to build Masala Library, and why he never saw it as “stealing.” Known for redefining modern Indian food, Zorawar explains why he believed betting on young talent was worth the risk, how both chefs went on to become globally celebrated names, and why Masala Library exploded from day one with hundreds of calls a day and weeks-long waiting lists. 🎬 The full episode drops soon.
