El primero, pero no el último!
.
Felicitaciones @gabrielm8819 por esos primeros 50km, FINISHER en Antelope Island Fall Classic 50k.
.

What better way to spend a Saturday than watching, helping, cheering, feeding sweaty runners?!? @massifrunning Fall Classic 10 mile, 50k, 68k was a heck of a fun time! Thanks to @jonijones_yrmom @stanger.paul @runsingletrack @billspanglersellshomes @joseph_a_bartholomew for helping out at the SHAKE N BAKE aid station.
We got to indoctrinate ignorant Ricky Bobby folks about the important mindset of “if you ain’t first, you’re last!!”
We got runners “all jacked up on MOUNTAIN DEW”
We saw a 12 year old finish the 68k!
We saw people finishing their first trail race.
We saw people suffering with a smile on their faces.
As usual, the island put on its typical mixture of weather but didn’t deter anyone from having a good time!!
Nice job Finn and the whole crew!!

Antelope Island 50K

First Ultra Marathon. Thankful for those who were there to take care of me and for those running beside me at times. Legs hurt this morning but still happy for how great yesterday went. There is still more in the tank.

The 2019 Antelope Island Fall Classic 50k was my first ever ultra win. It planted a little competitive spark in me and was the first time I thought huh maybe someday I could get decent at this ultra thing.

I’ve been back to the island many times in the years since then and now it feels like a neighborhood block party each time. Camping out with friends and fam last night took this one to the next level, although I might have sacrificed a little performance for it ;)

Big thanks to Finn and Jules @massifrunning and the whole local gang for putting together such great events here in on our favorite Salt Lake trails. Go check out their race calendar and hopefully I’ll see you at one next year!

Also cool that this race happened to be sponsored by @kodiakcakes and @precisionfandh so I knew exactly what I was getting at each aid station and was greeted by hot pancakes at the finish line 🥳

This year’s race is bigger than ever with three distances to choose from: 68K, 50K, and 10 miles. The new 68K features an out-and-back to Frary Peak, while the 10-mile course highlights the singletrack around Bridger Bay.
