POSTS STORIES REELS TAGGED

It was a rainy start to the day when we went out to give the horses their morning supplemental feed but it cleared out later on and we got some sunshine, which made for a gorgeous sky! We headed back to the barn in the afternoon to let the horses out on another pasture for a while and the barn was due for a muck (a bit past due! 🙈), which we used our wonderful @gorillamadeproducts wheelbarrow for. Did some @mastersonmethod bodywork on all of the horses, always cool to see them release tension from it! And headed up for the night after the horses’ evening supplemental feed with barely any light to spare!

5 books that have shaped the way I train, understand and care for horses. ✨🤎
What’s one horse book you think everyone should read?

Another beautiful day of helping my horsey clients release tension and feel more comfortable in their bodies through my fieldwork with @mastersonmethod

You know I #doitfortheyawns

And after all that hard work sometimes you just need a little horseplay with your stall neighbor.

✨🐎 Listening to the horses body ✨

A perfect example of how the body responds to tension release.
Changes in posture and muscle tone can be seen here on this lovely OTTB jumping in the open classes.

Working with the horses responses, allowing them to participate in the release process rather than forcing a change.
This is where the magic happens ✨

We gave a little extra love to the horses who give so much to us!❤️🐴
This past Saturday we welcomed Danae Johnson of EquiKahu Collaborative LLC to NTRC for a special Masterson Method clinic dedicated to the incredible horses who make the programs here possible!

Volunteers and staff spent the afternoon learning new ways to support our equine partners through relaxation, connection and body awareness. Danae introduced the Masterson Method and guided us through classroom learning and hands on activities to help us better understand and support these incredible horses.
ALL of the horses had a chance to enjoy this amazing clinic including the littlest guys Pete & Snickers.🥰

Now we want to hear from you!
What clinic or workshop would you like to see brought to the barn next? From nervous system regulation, body work/massage techniques to disability education and beyond we want to hear your ideas!
Leave your suggestions in the comments or tag someone who may be interested in partnering with us!

Again a HUGE thank you to Danae with EquiKahu Collaborative LLC, you can book with her through the website and checkout Masterson Method online to learn more as well.

Fun weekend doing a refresher course with the brilliant guys from Masterson Method. If you haven't seen it before, it's a fantastic, non-invasive methodology, designed to help horses feel more comfortable in their bodies, releasing tensions, discomfort and stiffness.

It's a perfect way to give back to the horses, to thank them for everything they do for us working on our equine-assisted Mental Resilience courses helping military and police personnel overcome traumatic experiences.

I met Jim Masterson many years ago when I was still working with Monty Roberts and Kelly Marks. It's funny how things often come full circle like that. I love collecting great horsemanship methods from all across the equine world and incorporating the very best bits into our own Warrior Equine methodology. Always learning something new!!

Thanks to @vickyjdevlin and all the team @mastersonmethod

I would like to express my huge gratitude to Tatjana and Živa, the owners of the @rock_ranc_awarehorsemanship Thank you so much for your hospitality!

Thank you @lucieklaassen and @wendy.omb for this magical weekend, for introducing me to the Masterson Method 💜

Seeking downregulation can sometimes look like this…

A horse choosing to walk away from their feed to join the calm, relaxing bubble while I’m working with their pen mate.

It’s amazing when people choose to hire me for their horses, and even more amazing when the horses choose the work for themselves.
