“My family’s sacrifices mean a lot to me, and that keeps me going.” ❤️

“Pressure is something I put on myself, so I try not to give it too much power.” 🧠

Two quotes that say everything about who Mateo is. In Episode 29 “Sailing on Sacrifice” and Part 2 of our interview with Youth World Champion Mateo Coates 🌍we go deeper into his mindset—the humility he’s learned from his friends (shoutout to @m.l.weka_ !) the constant pursuit of improvement, and the fire to prove that Americans belong on the world stage. He’s identifying his weaknesses, managing pressure on his own terms, and grinding for that gold. This is what it looks like when purpose meets perspective. 🏆🌊

Winning the wooden medal 🏅🪵 is never a great feeling but still very happy about that result.
I have improved so much over this season. Not just a sailor but also as a person.

I want to thank my coaching team @fabi.1755 who supported me at event and @zunka1510 who send all the possible support from home 💨
Without you I would have never improved so much this season.

Congrats to my teammate @mimi.dhl for winning bronze 🥉for Germany 🇩🇪
