As the weather turns crisper and the days shorten, the urge to pull back, stay cosy, and slow our rhythm right down is so strong 🍂🤍

It is completely normal (and so necessary) to let things soften at this time of year. Rest is such an integral part of learning, and choosing quieter days at home is never time wasted.

If you’re looking for a few ideas or recommendations to weave into your month alongside those slower days, swipe through to see what’s on our calendar this autumn alongside our usual clubs… from seasonal traditions to living history days out.

Are you leaning into a quiet season at home right now, or do you have a few autumn outings lined up? Let’s swap ideas below! 👇🏽

Just when you think you’ve discovered all the best places in Leeds… you find somewhere you can’t believe you’ve never been before 👀

@mathscityleeds is such a fun way for kids to learn without it feeling like learning. It’s completely hands-on, with loads of interactive activities where they can explore, experiment and put their maths skills to the test.

We spent a couple of hours here, but I know Lilah would’ve stayed even longer if she’d had a friend with her!

And a family ticket is under £30, which makes this such great value.

You can even make a full day of it without needing the car. 🚆 Jump on the train to Leeds, Maths City is just a stone’s throw from the station, then hop on the water taxi right outside and head over to the @royalarmouriesmuseum , which is FREE entry!

Two brilliant family activities, all in one day. 🙌

Have you been to Maths City before?

This time last week we were busy setting up for the Pseudorandom Ensemble show at MathsWorld! It was a wonderful evening, thoroughly enjoyed by all the performers, and I think by all of the audience!

We are busy sorting out some clips of the show to share, but in the meantime here are some photos taken on the evening. Photo of the outside of MathsWorld

I thoroughly enjoyed my stint as Pseudorandom Ensemble's sound tech at @mathsworlduk last night. They sounded GREAT despite my best efforts!

#Maths #Music #MathsToday A person stands in a colourful indoor event space, wearing glasses and a black T-shirt featuring a large headphone graphic around a three-dimensional geometric cube and the words “KEY CHANGE BACK AGAIN!” They hold one arm out towards the camera with an open hand. Behind them are a projection screen, microphone, music stands, chairs, cables and colourful fabric panels.

My exhibition is up at @mathsworlduk throughout August. Come visit! If you're around 13th August, come through, I'll be there all day!

It's a third outing for InHERited Lines, my solo exhibition. First at the Royal Albert Hall in April/May then at OPEN Ealing in June and now at MathsWorld - the UK's first hands on Mathematics discovery centre only just opened in October 2025!

When we hung it up on Sunday, I was so pleased that we'd pulled it off in such a short time especially as the place was so busy with children and adults enjoying the 40 plus interactive zones. puzzles across the two floors.

I would have loved such a place when I was little, who am I kidding, I love this place now... the interactivity, the maths and now the Islamic Geometric Art too.

Here's hoping it enables folk, especially the young ones see maths from a different perspective - one full of beauty and intriguing historical and cultural connections.

So much to do, fully interactive, great for all ages; in fact, we actually saw quite a few adults there alone, totally immersed in the maths 😅

Definitely recommending this for your London summer itinerary.

Lawrie has been requesting a return trip to @mathsworlduk to play with the big bubble maker!

We had a great time, so much to entertain and get them (& us!!) thinking, Lawrie loved the puzzles and Josie enjoyed the morse code.

Is this the equation you need to solve your six-week summer holiday survival guide with the kids? ➕➗🧮

Welcome to MathsWorld! When I suggested bringing our two boys here to my friend Mia, she looked at me like, “What do you mean… MathsWorld?” 😂

I can’t lie, I thought exactly the same thing. I was expecting worksheets and sums… but wow, I couldn’t have been more wrong.

This isn’t boring maths. Think Tetris, bubbles and loads of hands-on challenges that make you feel like you’ve stepped inside The Cube. Head upstairs and see if you’ve got what it takes to become an MI5 agent! 🕵️

The best bit? Your ticket includes a FREE annual pass, so once you’ve visited, you can keep coming back for a whole year. Adult tickets are £14.50, children (3–17) are £13, under 3s go free, or it’s £50 for a family of four.

Honestly, that’s what makes this such a game changer. On those days when payday feels a little too far away or the weather isn’t playing ball, you’ve already got somewhere brilliant to take the kids without paying all over again.

📍 MathsWorld
6 Burrell Street, London SE1 0UN
Just a 5-minute walk from Southwark Station and only a short stroll from the South Bank.

Definitely one to add to your summer holiday list! ❤️
